We had the good fortune of connecting with Mitchel Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mitchel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always wanted to run my own business. I had started a few small businesses before, but I needed steadier income, so I ended up working for a friend who owned several duct cleaning companies across the US.
I was working long hours for his company and driving all over Denver. When my partner and I found out we were having a baby, I knew that something had to change. I was brainstorming how to start my own business almost every day. That winter, things got really slow at the company. I realized it was the right time to take the leap, so I bought the equipment and a van, and went out to start a name for myself.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What sets my business apart is pretty simple: I just want to do a really good job, completely inside and out. In this industry, a lot of big companies rush through the work, but I make sure it’s done right. I prove it to my customers by showing them actual before and after pictures of their vents so they can see the results for themselves. Beyond the quality of the work, I focus on being real, personable, kind, and just being myself.
Getting to where I am today definitely wasn’t easy. Taking the leap to buy a van and equipment during a slow winter was a big risk. Looking back, the hardest but biggest thing was just taking those first few steps forward and actually doing it. Once I started taking action, things just kind of fell into place, and before I knew it, the business was doing great. I never would have guessed it would take off like this if I hadn’t just started.
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that if you treat people right, do honest work, and show them the proof, the business will grow. I want the world to know that when they hire us, they are getting someone who truly cares about the job and treats their home with respect.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a best friend was visiting, I’d take them up to Crosscut Pizza in Ned, and we’d definitely go hiking or camping up near Gold Hill. For breakfast, we’d have to stop by Nok’s for some awesome donuts. I’d also take them over to the Mt. Sanitas Trailhead for a solid hike to see the views, and then hit up Restore Wellness over in Boulder to just relax and unwind after being out in the mountains.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Sherry, my partner, who’s been there for me, cheering me on and helping with the kids while I’m gone. Also, Jim Rohn. His inspiring words of wisdom have helped me through the winters of life.
