We had the good fortune of connecting with TAira Blunt and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi TAira, how do you define success?
My definition of success is achieving the minor or major goals that you set for yourself. It doesn’t matter if the goal is as small as waking up in the morning making it throughout the day or something big like wanting to be 20, starting your own business. From my experience of being in the military, a mother, a wife and an entrepreneur I have learn to appreciate the minor and major achievements that have helped me reach the success I have now.

So I’m very different from local bakers! I’m full time active duty military as well as a business owner of Ts Hot Pot! I head to formation at 6:30AM Mon-Fri in the mist of all that I have training, my daily duties, being a mother of my son (Amarii), being a wife and still having to push cakes or baked orders out. Sometimes it gets hectic but what I am most proud of is learning how to balance everything out without overloading or working myself. That’s a task that’s hard to do for someone who first starts their business! Believe me I started Ts Hot Pot in 2018, I was 20 at the time. Trying to balance a social life, work life, self care, love life + more can be overwhelming but don’t give up!
Some challenges I had to overcome were the day to day self doubt of wether my business would succeed or not! I doubted myself several times and even complained to my husband how I rarely had customers. He pushed me to continue to post my work, stay active on social media and continue applying pressure as he would say. Another challenge I faced after becoming pregnant with my son, I closed my business for the first 3 months after Postpartum so I could focus on being the best mom I could be. I was nervous about reopening my business but I was determined to put out amazing work. Ever since then my business has been booming!
One thing I want the world to know about me and my business is that it started small and has expanded within 3 years. With all the changes to my life, I never once thought about giving up on my dream of being a baker and owning my own bakery. You have to see the vision before anyone else can, once you can see it… the sky is the limit! I hope to continue to inspire the younger crowd as well as the people my age, to go after something you truly have a passion for!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my husband, my son, my family and the city of Killeen, TX.
