How success happens

Every overnight success we’ve seen has been years in the making. And those overnight successes are rarely because of an amazing idea or a stroke of luck. We asked some of our favorite folks from the community about what characteristics are at the heart of their success story?

I believe the most important factor behind our company’s success is my employees. They are fantastic people, and they are experts at what they do. They take pride in their work, and we strive to provide excellent customer service and care about the people we work with and what we do. Growth. Growth has been the important factor behind my success. It is a loaded word for a business and artist, so let me clarify the growth that has aided in my success. I am referring to the growth of my talent, in what I provide as a service, and reaching out to others, If I had not put effort into any of these three growths I would not be a successful business woman. Following my gut instinct and being authentic to my artistic needs is what brings me the greatest success. I’d been creating tonally similar self-published comics for a few years during and post college that were very cartoony, humorous and violent. These were the first books that I felt held my true essence and I could see a brand forming with. They were a lot of fun to make and I’d become comfortable with the process. Read more>>

My love for the art. I love newborn photography. I don’t just ‘do photos’ I live and breathe this genre of art. From the moment I wake up until the moment I go to bed at night, I am thinking about, creating for, and practicing my skills to give all moms the chance to catch this fleeting time. As a psychotherapist of 40 years, and an ordained minister of 38 years and an author and workshop presenter, the most important factor behind my success is my continued willingness to work on myself. I have been working on myself since my high School Psychology class. Since, then I have wanted to understand relationships on all levels. The best way to do that is certainly with study and education and then the willingness to keep applying what I learn and to seek more deeply and more broadly as I learn and apply. Read more>>

After my mom passed away in 2013, I felt a calling to help people in the dark seasons of their life. Once grief entered into my life, so much changed and I wanted to help others through that transition with the experience and knowledge I have gained from going through my own loss at a young age. My mother was full of grit and tenacity and also pushed me to pursue my degree. She is responsible for getting me to the right places and taught me how to show up for myself. Read more>>
