We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Foltz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amanda, as a parent, what do you feel is the most meaningful thing you’ve done for them?
Going for your DREAMS! I hope the one thing that my children have learned is that you can have any life you want. You just have to roll up your sleeves, face your fears, and go for it. I have raised three boys. One is now making an incredible income at sales and living large Downtown Denver with a view. My middle son is in the Navy with the Navy Seals. A position that has a 75% washout rate. My youngest is just entering high school. He was just accepted to the prestigious college preparatory school Valor. I love watching them dream and achieve.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My first book published, A call to arms against human trafficking was 20 years in the making. As I was educating and empowering others to answer the calls to fight child sex slavery I always was asked the same question. What can I do? Writing a book like this one was hard and emotional. Writing out my personal story of redemption was raw and vulnerable. Wondering how people would treat me after reading my story was scary. But my passion to continue the fight and empower others outweighed any fears I had. The discipline of writing a book was eye-opening. People now ask me about how to write a book. I always say, ” Start writing- one word at a time”.
My second book- Free your mind. Was fun and exciting to produce. It is a needed tool to stay positive in this ever-changing world.
Navigating the publishing world is trying at times. I’m onto my third book and can’t wait to see what happens. Each time I publish I learn so much.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
One of my favorite countries I have been to is Costa Rica. Pack your swimsuit and get ready for adventure. We are staying on the Guanacaste coast. Early in the morning we take a drive up to the mountains and hike a volcanoe. On the way back we stop off at a little shack and watch them crack us open some coconuts. Of course the tide is coming in and the waves are great. Grab your surfboard and let’s catch some waves. We finish our day up at LOLO’s and watch the pig swim in the water from our hammocks drinking a beer watching the sun go down.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without my faith in Jesus, I would be dead somewhere in a gutter. I’m 100% sure of this. I was freed from a world of pain and hurt. It’s lead me to fight for the freedom of others. My husband of 21 years has been my rock and biggest supporter. Giving me the freedom to travel the world and continue my fight against human trafficking. For each adventure, I embark on there is always a friend, mentor, or book that inspires me. In real estate, my KW family has been instrumental in my success. The book Three Cups of Tea changed my directory of fighting human trafficking. The list is so long. I never try to do anything on my own. I always find someone who has and learn from them.
