We had the good fortune of connecting with Amy Bolden and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amy, what matters most to you?
In my work as an artist & creator, I value authenticity in presentation and process. If you’re taking shortcuts, paying for promotion, or anything else that revolves around getting ahead of the game unfairly… is it really real? For me in my business I approach every single client, niche, and project with the lens of capturing it as it is in the moment. That authenticity can translate into connecting people on the ground level and building it up from there.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I started my own social management & creation services as a way to elevate the ones who deserve to have their voice heard. While social media in general is very self-centered at it’s core, there is a way to utilize this tool in an authentic way that allows us to make the life changing connections who could propel us forward. I don’t just “think,” but I know that what sets me apart is my in-tune ability to empathize with people in a way that feels genuine and heart-centered. You could have the most beautiful social content in the world, but if you can’t create a personal connection with the audience you are probably trying to build, then what good is your social content? With more people going to online spaces for a sense of human connection, it is important to remember that we are all just humans doing our very best and I am proud to represent something that remains real. The exciting part is that the online social space is only accelerating because of video apps like TikTok creating that sense of humanity again. It’s not the “easy route” by any means to take because it’s easier to pay for something that gives that false sense of connection. However, I think that humanity in general is craving that human connection and I believe that we will reconnect in new ways that sustain us in the long run. I think what I want people to learn most is how to not only accept others, but to accept themselves and where they fit. There is room for everybody at the table and there is need for people to put each other in their shoes. That’s what I essentially do as the founder of Veg Threads.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What’s sad is that I haven’t even remotely explored the city of Denver…. yet! However there are definitely a few of my favorite spots: There are several spots I’d take them to visit that could spark joy. One of my favorites as an artist is the Denver Art Museum where we could view the installation of the season. Then we could become “art” ourselves and take a moment or two at the Denver Selfie Museum where you can have your own photoshoots in the fun current installations. Make sure to bring your camera! We would probably grab food from somewhere at least once a day and because I’m vegan, I’d make sure to take them to my favorite spots. That assortment of cuisines would be from Meta Burger (vegan burgers, shakes, and junk food), Piante Pizza (wood-fired vegan pizza), Somebody People (cocktail bar & house made pasta), and Himchuli Highlands (Indian & Nepali Cuisine). Then if they wanted to check out some shopping we’d hit up Choice Market, Nooch Vegan Market, 16th Street Mall, and then venture out to the Boulder shops downtown. I’d also make sure to take them to walk a trail at Lair O’ the Bear Park for some nature time.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Shoutout to the vegan communities I am connected to for welcoming my partner & I into their world. From the connections we’ve made, we’ve been able to build a life that we only dreamed possible. If it weren’t for them and believing in me as someone who could contribute to the community, I would feel even more lost. While I made the effort to personally connect with the community while providing value & hard work to elevate the message, it’s only because of them & the support they provide that I am able to stand up on my own right now.
