We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Buchholz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I decided to start my own business because I have a love for celebrating big moments with the couples I photograph. There’s something truly special about being a part of one of the most significant days in someone’s life and capturing those moments of love and joy. I get to combine my passion for photography with my desire to celebrate life’s special moments with my clients. It’s an incredibly rewarding experience to see the joy on my clients’ faces when they see their photos and know that I was able to capture their special day in a way that will last forever. Doing this as my full-time job provides me with the busy lifestyle that I love to have while still enjoying work every single day.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets me apart as a photographer is my affordability, and my drive to stay busy while providing an amazing client experience. I understand that not everyone has a large budget for photography, which is why I make it a priority to keep my prices affordable while still providing high-quality services. As a young photographer, I have a fresh perspective and a willingness to take risks to capture unique and creative shots. I believe in staying busy and pushing myself to take on more projects, as it helps me grow and improve as a photographer. However, I also understand that the client experience is just as important as the quality of the photographs. Overall, my goal is to provide affordable, high-quality photography services while ensuring my clients have an stress-free and enjoyable experience that they’ll remember for years to come.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Windsor, it’s a pretty small town so we would definitely have to explore. Some must see spots near me would be: Horsetooth, Rocky Mountain National Park, old town Fort Collins and exploring downtown Windsor. If we strayed from the close by I love Telluride, Crested Butte and Breckenridge.
As far as food goes I am pretty well versed, some of my favorite spots are: Bai Tong in Loveland, The Windsor Mill and Luna’s tacos and Tequila.
Getting a good drink is always something I enjoy. William Olivers in downtown Windsor is phenomenal for whiskey lovers, Weldwerks in Greeley has an amazing sour, and STEM Cider has some of the best hard ciders in the nation.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
One of the main reasons I was able to be so successful with starting my business was the endless love and support from my fiancé Nate. During covid he dealt with my busy schedule as I started this endeavor and has continued to since day one. I am so thankful to have him.
