Meet Adriana Talbot | Adriana Talbot | Founder of CB Power Yoga

We had the good fortune of connecting with Adriana Talbot and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Adriana, what do you attribute your success to?
Community and the shared belief that yoga and movement are for everybody. When you walk into CB Power Yoga, you join a community of teachers and students who support and celebrate each other and grow together.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our mission and methodology sets us apart and help us cultivate a loving and welcoming community!
I was introduced to yoga and pilates by my grandmother. She showed me that movement and fitness don’t need to be so serious – it can be a moment to connect and for celebration, fun, and play! She taught me that we only have one life and to do what makes you happy, to be unapologetically yourself, and that the energy you share is the energy you receive. I founded CB Power Yoga with the core belief and mission that everyone deserves a safe, welcoming, and loving community to move, grow and learn together. Over time my dream became more than just a studio, but to live my life the way my grandmother encouraged me to and to share her methodology with others.
I wanted anyone and everyone to be able to experience our mission and methodology, and to make that happen, I opened CB Power Yoga as the only instructor teaching twice a day.
Looking back, that was a little crazy. Yes, there were challenges. I worked a corporate 9-5 job in UX Global Strategy and ran a studio concurrently. I’m a new business owner and have made many mistakes. My perspective and positive mindset helped me overcome challenges. I innately think that everything works out for the best – that life is happening for us, not to us. I see every hiccup and lesson as an opportunity to grow and learn, and once you change your mindset to growth, every obstacle becomes an opportunity.
We now have many amazing instructors who embody our mission and methodology! We strive for the classes to be accessible to all with weekly free community classes, and regular donation-based classes for local non-profits. The community loves and supports each other, and I think the students can feel that, not only from our teachers but also from each other.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Eat: 1. McGills – Do you want to feel like you’re in a Hallmark movie and eat yummy food? Eat here. Everyone at McGill’s feels like family, and I look forward to seeing everyone and catching up on HGTV while I’m there.
2. Breadery
3. Secret Stash
Drink:
1. Dogwood
2. Camp4
3. Bonez
Vist/Hangout:
1. All the outdoor recreation CB has to offer
2. The Majestic movie theater for a unique cinema experience
3. Yoga in Rainbow Park – a free and optional donation-based yoga class every Summer Sunday supporting local nonprofits!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A special shout out to the CB Power Yoga team through every learning, lesson, obstacle, and celebration – they are my family, and we wouldn’t be here without them! I feel incredibly blessed and lucky to have the team and community we have – not a day goes by where I’m not grateful for every person who walks into the studio.
