We had the good fortune of connecting with Becky Glaze and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Becky, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I wanted flexibility with my hours and the ability to work on my own terms and in a way that could weave between the needs of my family.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
The pairing of passion with purpose is a big thing that, I believe, sets me apart. I am energized by the work I do every day that aligns so well into my passion for health and well being for all. When I first started out I thought I wanted to go the route of nutrition completely, then I started to really uncover the world of what we put ON our skin every day and how that has negative health implications as well. The pivot for me from focusing solely on what went IN our bodies to what went ON was a very easy and natural transition, but there was a big learning curve, because I’m not a product junky and client to client there is a lot of nuance with their skin’s needs. I learned to become a student again and to stay incredibly curious about people, to ask better questions so I could better understand how good, well formulated products, paired with a healthy lifestyle could bring about incredible changes in people’s lives. I’ve also learned that not all “healthy” products are created equal and screening, transparency and raw material procurement are INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT and being aware of marketing buzz words and packaging is one of the best things, we as consumers, can empower ourselves with, so we are actually buying actual HIGH QUALITY and not just BEST MARKETED types of products.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m so lucky to live in the incredibly explorable and fascinating state of Colorado. I LOVE getting up into the mountains, especially in the summer. The trails to explore and the places to camp are some of the best I’ve ever experienced. My family and I love hiking, so our favorite way to help friends experience the best of the best is to head up to the Frisco and Breckenridge area – a favorite hangout spot. We would do some canoeing on Lake Dillon, follow some meandering trails around area or for the more hiking experienced friends, start early and summit a 14er – I’ve climbed Quandary Peak twice and have climbed more than 20 of the 14,000 foot mountains here in Colorado. Heading back to the city area, of course a pop into Red Rocks, maybe snag a few spots at Yoga on the Rocks and grab brunch at Snooze an A.M. Eatery (a family favorite) and grab an early dinner at Breckenridge Brewery with it’s yummy food and gorgeous mountain views.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d have to say that in a way I got lucky and I’d need to take this all the way back to my childhood. Early on my parents instilled in me a deep respect for our bodies and how to support them in the most optimal way while also learning the power of food as medicine. Over the years I just continued to explore all the ways to support the human body in the most health protective way. In this exploring I discovered a passion to partner with people on their wellness journey and share what I have been learning to make it just a little bit easier for them to navigate what can be a complex and confusing world of optimal wellness.
