Meet Bella Knowles | Bookkeeper & Virtual Assistant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bella Knowles and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bella, how does your business help the community?
My business supports the community by providing small business owners with clear financial guidance and support. When owners understand their numbers, they can make confident decisions that help their businesses grow sustainably.
Thriving small businesses create jobs, strengthen families, and uplift neighborhoods—boosting our local economy. I love building genuine connections and helping people link with resources and others who can support their growth.
Along with bookkeeping, I offer administrative support to help owners stay organized and focused, giving them peace of mind to move forward. By empowering small businesses and fostering connections, I’m contributing to a stronger, more resilient community.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
What sets me apart is how personal my work is. I don’t just offer bookkeeping services—I build relationships. I take time to understand each client’s business, goals, and challenges so I can create a system that works for them. I truly care about their growth, and I believe that care and trust are what make a real difference.
I’m originally from the Philippines and I don’t have a formal degree. I started from the bottom—I landed a job in accounting and worked my way up from there. I became curious and hungry to learn everything I could about accounting, business, and how finances can either break or build a business. I saw firsthand how crucial it is to have a solid understanding of your numbers, and I knew I wanted to help others do the same.
Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy. There were moments of doubt, slow growth, and wondering if I had made the right decision. But I kept showing up, learning, and trusting that with consistency, faith, and hard work, everything would fall into place. I’ve had to teach myself a lot, ask questions, make mistakes, and keep going anyway.
The biggest lessons I’ve learned are to stay curious, be consistent, and never underestimate the power of small beginnings. You don’t need a perfect background to create something meaningful—you just need heart, drive, and the courage to keep moving forward.
What I want the world to know is that my business is built on heart, resilience, and purpose. I believe in empowering people through financial clarity because behind every business is a dream worth protecting.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit for a week, I’d make sure they experience the best of Colorado—especially the San Juan Mountains. There’s nothing like getting outside here, especially in the fall when the colors are absolutely breathtaking.
We’d start with a scenic drive to Ouray or Telluride, settle into a cozy cabin or camp under the stars, and spend a few days hiking, chasing waterfalls, soaking in hot springs, and just soaking in all that fresh mountain air. A drive along the Million Dollar Highway would be a must, it’s one of the most stunning routes in the country, with crisp air, golden aspens, and views that stay with you long after.
After soaking up nature, we’d head back to the city for some good eats and laid-back fun. I’d take them to my favorite brunch spots or coffee shops—probably in RiNo or Highlands in Denver, where there’s always something new and creative happening. We’d explore local markets, support small businesses, and maybe catch some live music or relax at a rooftop bar to unwind.
But more than anything, I want them to feel inspired—to see a different way of life, watch sunrises and sunsets over the mountains, fill their soul with wide-open skies, and maybe even spark new dreams—the true American dream I’m grateful to be living now. Whether it’s camping under the stars or wandering through a vibrant neighborhood downtown, I’d make sure they get the full Colorado experience; adventure, amazing food, and a whole lot of heart.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give all the glory to God for the blessings that have made this possible. I’m also deeply grateful to my husband, who has been a vessel of God’s support in my life—my number one encourager, always loving me in quiet and constant ways. There were many moments I doubted myself, unsure if I made the right decision or if my business would ever grow. But he reminded me that the things that matter most take time, and that the journey would be worth it. Through it all, he’s stood by me and supported us while I built my client base—and for that, I’m truly thankful.
I’m also thankful for my family and close friends, whose encouragement and love have meant so much throughout this journey.
