We had the good fortune of connecting with Benjamin Strong and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Benjamin, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind my success and the success of my brand has been my personal growth and the deep connection I’ve developed with myself. This journey of self-discovery has been pivotal in allowing me to connect authentically with others.

Understanding my own emotions and experiences has given me the ability to create a space where my clients feel safe and seen. When I photograph someone, my goal is not just to capture an image, but to capture a genuine moment—a true reflection of their emotions and connections. By being in tune with myself, I can sense and foster these authentic moments, allowing people to truly feel and express themselves in front of the camera.

This authentic connection is what makes my work stand out. It’s not just about taking pictures; it’s about creating and preserving memories that evoke real emotions. My clients trust me to capture their most intimate and significant moments, and it’s this trust, built on mutual connection and understanding, that has been the cornerstone of my success.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m excited to share more about my art and what sets me apart in this dynamic industry. The essence of my work lies in authenticity. What truly drives me is the pursuit of authentic connections. While anyone can capture a good photo or video, my joy comes from getting a couple to connect with their images on a deeper, emotional level. It’s about creating moments that resonate with genuine feelings and real connections.

Professionally, my journey has been anything but easy. The industry is in a constant state of flux, and it often feels like there’s a new pivot or change to adapt to. These challenges, however, have been instrumental in shaping who I am today. Overcoming them required resilience and a steadfast commitment to my vision. Staying consistent with what I believe in and remaining true to myself have been the most significant lessons I’ve learned along the way.

One of the things I’m most proud of is the ability to create a space where my clients feel truly seen and understood. This allows me to capture the most authentic and heartfelt moments. It’s not just about the technical aspects of photography or videography; it’s about evoking real emotions and preserving memories that my clients will cherish for a lifetime.

What I want the world to know about my brand and story is that it’s built on a foundation of authenticity and genuine connection. This is what sets my work apart and what keeps me passionate about what I do. I believe that staying true to yourself, no matter how challenging the journey may be, is the key to creating art that truly resonates.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d make sure they experienced the best of what the area has to offer. We’d start with a scenic drive to Estes Park, appreciating the stunning views without the hassle of a difficult journey. In Denver, we’d kick off the day with breakfast at Fox Run Cafe on Colfax, known for its delicious food and cozy vibe. We’d spend time in RiNo, exploring its vibrant street art and galleries, and grab patio drinks at Improper City. For an active outing, we’d hit Movement Gym for some indoor rock climbing, followed by a beautiful hike at Indian Peaks. Since I spend most of my time in RiNo, we’d also enjoy the local favorites and explore the area’s unique spots, ensuring my friend gets a true taste of Denver’s culture and outdoor beauty.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m thrilled to dive into this and acknowledge the incredible influences that have shaped my journey. My success and the place I am today are undoubtedly thanks to the unwavering support, mentorship, and inspiration from several remarkable sources.

Firstly, I want to give a huge shoutout to Jay Shetty and his enlightening podcast. His wisdom and insights have been instrumental in shaping my perspective on personal growth and authentic living. His episodes have provided me with countless “aha” moments that have influenced how I approach both my personal and professional life.

The Gottman Institute also deserves a significant mention. Their invaluable tips on marriage and insights into what healthy conflict looks like have not only helped me in my personal relationships but also in understanding and capturing the dynamics of the couples I photograph. Their research and teachings have deepened my appreciation for the nuances of human connection, which is essential in my work.

Lastly, I owe a lot to John Bradshaw and his profound work with Taoism. His teachings have helped me find inner peace and balance, allowing me to connect more deeply with myself and, by extension, with others. This connection is at the heart of my photography, enabling me to create spaces where genuine emotions can flourish.

These individuals and organizations have significantly contributed to my growth and success. Their wisdom and guidance have been a cornerstone in my journey, and I am incredibly grateful for their influence on my life and work.
