Meet Beth Porter | Certified EPT™ Practitioner with a Focus on Trauma-Healing & Living an Aligned Life

We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Porter and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beth, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Earth & Ether was born from my desire to share the healing modality — Emotional Polarity Technique™ — and the transformative tools that have guided me through my darkest moments, helping me to lead a purposeful, whole-hearted life.

What should our readers know about your business?
My healing practice is focused on pinpointing and healing unresolved past conflicts that contribute to recurring negative life experiences and stuck physical and emotional pain. My approach involves addressing trauma, past programming, and limited belief systems — a reconciliation of who you thought you were with who you truly are. Working with your subconscious body, we can unearth the specific unresolved conflicts keeping you stuck and attached to an outdated self-image. From there, I guide my clients toward peace and harmony, emphasizing the transformative power of forgiveness. It is a true honor to hold people in and through the transformation of their pain, and I do not take this work lightly.
Building my own business has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I’ve done in my life. Unsurprisingly, I have found it a little tricky to tell people about my work without sounding like a snake-oil salesman, which makes me incredibly grateful that I have built a strong referral-based business. I’ve come to learn that following our calling (whatever that may be) invites us to heal and transform the parts of us that are afraid, wounded, and unbalanced. This whole journey has been a major reconciliation of who I thought I was, with who I truly am.
One of my larger challenges has been navigating the scarcity mindset and old patterns of lack. However, my desire to offer this work in the world is greater than each limitation I’ve faced, which has helped me to remain anchored throughout it all.
Integrity in my healing practice and business is very important to me especially since the nature of my work deals with the tender areas of the human psyche. I have and continue to honor what I believe to be important even when advised by industry mentors and business coaches to cut corners and ignore my inner compass. I’m proud of my courage to stay true to what matters to me and opt for organic growth over inauthentic success.
Along the way, I’ve allowed myself to be emotionally supported, held, and inspired by my trusted mentors and close friends. And I’ve given myself the gift of time — once I realized this is my life’s work, I decided that it gets to take my lifetime to build and grow. With that, I began to truly honor my presence, my energy levels, and my current resources while trusting I am on the right track. The pressure has been off ever since, and my practice is organically growing in really fun ways.
One of my favorite guiding quotes has been: “Speed is irrelevant if you’re traveling in the wrong direction.” – Mahatma Gandhi

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently live in the Louisville area and have come to rely on a few local restaurants: Moxie Bread, Community Lafayette, Brew Coffee & Tea (they have a sweet little retail shop as well), and Wonder Press.
There are so many wonderful hikes and outdoor spots in this part of the country. Some of my favorite accessible hikes include Doudy Draw Trailhead in Eldorado (love to go here for the sunrise in the summer), Brainard Lake (always absolutely stunning) and I also like to take a picnic to the Joder Trail in Boulder.
When I lived in Denver, I enjoyed frequenting Huckleberry Coffee and Cart Driver (delicious pizza and prosecco on tap!). And, the Clyfford Still Museum remains one of my all-time favorite museums to visit.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I feel immense gratitude for my circle of close, trusted friends always by my side, supporting me through victories, and reaffirming my resilience. I am also very appreciative of my incredible clients who consistently inspire me with their transformations and recommend my work to those dear to them.
