Meet Brad Doss | President of Doss Financial Inc

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brad Doss and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brad, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
When it comes to the work life balance for me my opinions and my feelings have definitely changed over the years. I used to try to do work life balance in the sense of “ OK I need this amount of hours at home this amount of hours at the office to sleep to get balanced”. But a couple years ago I change my thought process and instead of thinking of work life balance I think of my life as having multiple seasons and when I move into a different season that shifts how much time is been spent where, according to the season. so for example for me, tax season obviously is going to be much more heavy on the work side , a little less on the family side a lot less of the hobby side. And once taxes are over a lot of times the work life balance of work decreases, and I often replenished that time I lost with my hobbies and with my family during the off-season. I don’t really view work life balance as a thing since I have shifted my mind to having a season with in your life.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Doss financial Inc. our firm really tries to provide tax solutions involving your whole picture not just your current year taxes. I find that a lot of accountants main focus is to not have you pay any taxes or to get the biggest refund back every year and a lot of times there’s opportunity cost to tax filing in that manner. We always like to talk with our clients and get a good idea of what their 1,5, and ten year goals are so that way we can not only tax plan properly but we can also put in strategies for upcoming years in order to be able to reach their financial goals and their company goals as well. I don’t think starting a business is ever really easy. When I first started my company I was working full-time at my business as well as working part time at a retail store and I did that for about three years until I felt truly comfortable making the jump to only full-time business owner. There will always be struggles when trying to start growing company, But what I have found to be the most important factor in growing company is great communication. Great communication with your clients makes them know that you are doing your absolute best to help them. great communication with your team lets everyone stay on the same page and keep moving all together in the same direction. Great communication when presenting yourself to new clients is imperative to growing the company. So at the end of the day if I had to choose what I Would want to be known for, it would be we do more than just file taxes. We go above and beyond looking at our clients company goals and financial needs in addition to filing an accurate, timely tax return. We want to provide every client with The tools to grow and in return as our client grow, we grow

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There have been a ton of different influences and supporters in my life that have lead me to where I am. But above all else my wife Jennifer has been my number one supporter/influencer/fan/employee/glue to my life. We first started dating just a couple months after I started my business so she has really been with me through the entire journey of growing this company. She’s always had the same vision for this company and she’s always wanted to be a helpful part of the growth. On the personal side her support and love every time I get home from a busy day at work or from an exciting day at work or from just a very tiring day at work she’s always there waiting willing to listen to me vent. She’s also been such an amazing wife and an amazing mother that keeps our household together and that’s really where the foundation of a strong business stars because if you don’t have a strong household I don’t think that you can be very successful in business. I go to work every day knowing all I need to focus on while I’m at work is providing the best customer service to my clients doing what I need to do to keep the company growing because I know my wife will be able to handle everything else for us. I would be years behind were I am today if it wasn’t for her.
