We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandon Mohr and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandon, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I established Colorado Strength Coalition (CSC for short) with the goal of creating a common place for the strength sports of Colorado to come together, support each other and, many times, have a laugh. The most important factor of behind the success of CSC are the people that it helps connect and the gyms it promotes. Whether that connection is to a gym or to a group to lift with, its all about the people. It has been an absolute pleasure of mine to work with the people who make up this amazing niche of strength sports and watch people of all backgrounds grow in the community. Through the common ground created by Colorado Strength Coalition, I have had the opportunity to watch people who might be new to the scene be immediately wrapped up by a local gym community, getting a front row seat to watch those people who might have gotten injured fight their way back to where they were and those who have gone from everyday lifters to elite status, nationally or international athletes. All of this coupled with giving people the stage to not just say “look what I have done” but for others to also say “look at what you have done” gives me great joy which, to me, is the ultimate form of success.
What should our readers know about your business?
What makes Colorado Strength Coalition different is we were the first to create a common space for all the strength sports and not just a single one and also not just a meme page! It wasn’t easy and hasn’t been easy. A lot of it is constantly finding new ways to say things and coming out with new products that will get people excited.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Breakfast – Early Bird in DTC. Their spicy chicken biscuit will get the day started right. Morning – Hiking Morison
Lunch – Lunch at Crown Burger. If you have never been here. The owners are amazing and years back a McDonalds built across the street from them and their response to it was “Bring it on.” A lot of respect there.
Afternoon – Rockies game on the rooftop
Dinner – Tacos Salene off Colfax and 225. Some of the best tacos in dinner. My fiancé and I have been going to a new taco place ever week since we started dating 3 years ago. Shout out @denver.taco.scene
Evening – Tap 14 for beers and views
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
One big one! My amazing fiancé who has been insanely encouraging through all of this. It means so much to have someone there to push you when you slow down!
