Meet Bren Husher | Permanent Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Bren Husher and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Bren, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I really love what I do and am very independent. I never really liked working at salons or for other people. I was more motivated to do it on my own than try to fit in or conform to someone else’s business model. Plus, I thought it would be fun to put my own spin on permanent makeup. And now I am my own boss!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have always been a creative person and wanted to do something that I could also help women feel beautiful by doing! I have always been good at making things look better. You can’t compare yourself and you have to put yourself out there. You have to separate yourself from the rest of the people that are doing this and not be afraid of what other people think of you. You must not get caught up in comparisons, put your blinders on and do what you think is best for you and your brand. Don’t be afraid to get yourself a few haters! One thing I pride do really myself in is that I use only RAW photos, no filters and no edits. I believe it is important to talk about the real deal, in life and in business. It is also very important to ask for help when you need it, especially if and when you don’t want to. I honestly really don’t care what the world thinks, I just want to do good work and have happy clients. I want to be known for being a genuine human being who brings happiness to people’s lives. I live the life I want to live, that is success to me.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love Denver, Denver has many different things for everyone to enjoy. I would take them to the mountains for a hike or two to take advantage of the scenic views. We would check out the local art scene downtown, hopefully find an art walk with food trucks somewhere. We’d have to visit a dispensary as well as a few vegan restaurants (City O City and Root Down for sure).
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would specifically like to thank my very first Permanent Makeup instructor Marjorie Grimm for giving me a great foundation.
