We had the good fortune of connecting with Brittany Flavell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittany, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
That a business can command it’s own credit, on the Employer Identification Number, without ever utilizing a personal guarantee or personal credit score from the owner. So many of my clients are just shocked that they were not aware. In fact, 98% of clients have NO business credit whatsoever even when they have been in business for 20+ years. Business credit HAS to be built intentionally. It won’t “automagically” happen, as the President of my franchise, Jerry Vaughn likes to say.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
In the world of business credit there aren’t many competitors. When you add in the other 3 parts to J Galt Finance Suite’s service, there is no competition. J Galt helps business owners build business credit on their company EIN that’s not linked to them personally, or their personal credit. We accomplish this in a 10-12 month timeframe so long as the client follows our 7-step blueprint efficiently. Once the business has established their business credit profile, they are able to secure HIGH-limit vendor, store, fleet, and cash credit lines in their business name without a personal guarantee or personal credit check. Furthermore no collateral or cash flow is required for approval, or to even get started on building their credit. Full business credit will help an owner drastically reduce commercial insurance costs, untether an owner from being personally liable for business lending products, make credit lines available to help an owner keep cash on hand, and still manage monthly operating costs when the next economic downturn arrives, amongst many other essential benefits.

J Galt Finance Suite also provides a Cash Mapping Program (valued at $300 monthly) located inside the finance suite itself. Unlike quick books, which can show you your revenue/expenses historically, and what you would forecast to do based on your history/current financial position, our cash mapping program allows you to input your lending goal, and determine the exact route needed to accomplish that goal.

Additionally, J Galt Finance Suite provides our clients with 2 hours a month working with a Fractional CFO (valued at $600 monthly) to review all of the clients business credit successes and cash mapping plans, and to determine any other factors needed to stay on the path to success. The Fractional CFO has access to industry specific market information that can guide a client on pricing, positioning, untouched revenue streams, and more.

Lastly, at the end of each year, our clients will receive a business valuation (valued at $6-$10k) that they are able to use for either applying for loans, selling their business, or adjusting their insurances.

J Galt Finance Suite clients are truly family. We pride ourselves on partnering with each client to really DREAM BIG, identify and accomplish their goals, protect their families and their personal assets, and overall function as much more secure, accomplished business entity. We provide a dedicated Credit Analyst, and all clients have access to myself for support, guidance, and consistent, collaborative forward momentum.

J Galt Finance Suite’s founder, Cole named it so after the famous book “Why Atlas Shrugged”. Throughout the book the question “Who is John Galt?” is constantly posed. The reader eventually finds out that John Galt is every man, woman, human out there who has had the grit, passion, and dedication to taking the uncertain leap into entrepreneurship. Cole founded J Galt Finance Suite after tragically losing two close friends to severe, temporary depressive states during two separate economic hardships. It was then that Cole knew he was on a mission to educate every small business owner across the US on how to build, utilize and manage true business credit. I was blessed to come across Cole, Deb, Brandon, Jerry and the rest of the J Galt team and partner with them on that mission. As a “reformed banker” it was the natural next step in my journey towards owning a business that provided a service that could make the largest impact possible on the client.

It has not been easy sharing this message and getting the word out to the Small Business Owners of America. They are busy, tired, stretched far too thin, and anxious. Their “defensive” mode is almost always on. Relationship building is key for J Galt Finance Suite. Educating is second. “Business owners typically do not even seek out business credit unless they’ve encountered some kind of pain point”, appropriately put by another partner Harry.

The thing is, an owner needs to build business credit NOW. Not when they get into the position of needing it. I like to tell my clients to think of it as an “insurance policy” for when things aren’t going well. The world overall is changing rapidly, and the environment of small business is always at risk. Owner’s need to be prepared ahead of time. J Galt’s President, Jerry always quotes “When is the best time to grow a shade tree? 20 years ago. When is the next best time? Today”.

I can definitely say the hardest obstacle to overcome has been in educating female business owners on the necessity of full business credit. As our Credit Analyst, Jill so thoughtfully put it “Women in general have not been taught to dream really big for themselves. If you asked them what they would do for their business with a pile of a cash and available credit, they wouldn’t have an answer.” If you ask them if they know anyone who could use that, they will mention their spouse or their friend, or their child. They’re always thinking about building other up. Women also tend to utilize personal cash to fund every part of their business, and shy away from credit seeing it as a risk instead of a growth or security asset. I truly live for the “aha” moments my female entrepreneur clients have when they gain the proper knowledge, and understanding of solid business credit.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m from Granby, Colorado and even though it’s quite small, it’s full of entrepreneurial spirited residents. Long lines of entrepreneurs have come from our little town. Granby has BIG HEART, integrity, and unmatched work ethic passed down by generation after generation of residents. The main street is always fun. There’s shops, restaurants, and entertainment for all. It’s kind of like the “Cheers Bar” of Colorado.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I can definitely share that entrepreneurship is LONELY. It’s the single most important thing (outside of marriage and being a parent) that one will do to impact their life, and their family’s life. Going into it I really didn’t think about the support I would need. I learned a long time ago to rely on myself, my character, my morals and work ethic (that my dad always guided on), and my “think outside the box” problem solving that my mom taught me. But I always showed up for others, supporting their endeavors, cheering them on, giving them social media shout outs and ENDLESS referrals. I still do. Now more than ever actually because I see the extreme need for that when one is just starting out, and even when they’ve been the entrepreneurship game for years.

As I got further into my journey my dad was cautious but frank about is belief in my ability, and my mom was worried but available to bounce things off of. My children never doubted me, and when I doubted myself (several times a week, sometimes several times a day) my husband was UNWAVERING in his support. Even at my lowest “entrepreneur rollercoaster” point my father in law said “Don’t give up without a fight! We believe in you!”, which also rang true for the rest of my husband’s family. It was easy to see where my husband got his dedicated, encouraging, consistent ways from.

My husband actually brought me almost all of the client’s I first helped through my company. He told everyone, everywhere we went about my business. He was, and still is SO PROUD of me. I really couldn’t have made it this far without that level of “you can do this, and you will” from him. On my bad days he reminded me to “take the good with the bad”, or that not every week would be perfect but that in time it would all workout. He was always right.

I have read every business help book, listened to every self help audible, joined every entrepreneur group on social media, followed every success influencer, and yet still at the end of the day it was my husband, Chris who held it all together, and kept gently pushing me forward through all the obstacles.
