We had the good fortune of connecting with Chantel Thyfault and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chantel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk is always a part of success. You have to be willing to take the risk and outweigh the benefits of them. Making sure you don’t fail by consistently giving your all is the key to entrepreneurship.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Lashing seems easy until you’re behind the treatment chair trying to isolate. Each eye has around 120 individual natural lashes, and we have to isolate each and every one of them. We have to pay attention to style, length, weight, allergies, client comfort, fluttery eyes, watery eyes, humidity and room temperature all at the same time with patience and ease to keep our clients comfortable and ensure great retention. You wouldn’t think it’s hard, but it truly is! It took me one full year of lashing full-time to truly feel 100% comfortable. My work stands out because I specialize in dramatic lash extensions, which isn’t common. I’ve expanded my business to include lash training and selling lash products, including my lash supply line. My lash supplies are made for low-humidity environments which are perfect for Colorado and high altitude climates. I want my brand to be known for taking the stress of lashing away from the artists and helping artists lash easier.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Denver is full of events so we would definitely go there. I would want to plan out a night to see live music and take them to Blake street during the summer, there’s so much to do in Denver on those summer nights!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to dedicate my success to my incredible family, including my children and my wonderful husband who let me quit my job to pursue my dreams. It was hard in the beginning when I was learning, going to school and taking models for free. He really pulled through for our family during that time and continuously supports us to ensure I am happy. I couldn’t be more grateful for him.
