We had the good fortune of connecting with Cheryl Lundberg and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Cheryl, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
Hi there, I’m Cheryl Lundberg and I am a colorado native. I was born here and love it here. I am very fortunate to have come from 2 amazing individuals who taught my brothers and me how to work hard, recognize the importance of giving back, taking ownership of your life and chasing dreams. I have a husband of 22 years and 3 amazing kids.

I have been an athlete and a creator throughout my life and have known it is my purpose in life to help people be their best self. I owned a retail business for 10 years and realized I wanted something a little different. I went back to school and became a certified personal trainer and yoga instructor 22 years ago. I had found my passion for helping people, but was missing my creative outlet.

Through my avenues of retail and a curiosity of the healing powers of natural stones, I began my adventure of making jewelry. I started Earth’s Energy Jewelry and have been making jewelry for nearly 20 years. I love the energy of the stones and how the stones pick their home. I don’t have a brick & mortar storefront, so I do home shows and markets. I do have an online store, however, not all of my work is shown there. I work to make each bracelet, pocket mala and mala necklace and earrings one of a kind.

I teach yoga in the park. 5 days a week, manage a youtube channel offering a new yoga session 3 days a week, train clients all week and work to create amazing pieces for folks to harness the energy of the Earth.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am very fortunate to have a few outlets to challenge myself and be creative. I am a personal trainer, yoga instructor, YouTube fitness influencer and jewelry creator. It’s been a journey, but one I have loved!

My personal training allows me to work with all different ages and fitness levels. I have a holistic approach to my trainings. I help create a lifestyle that enhances overall wellbeing. Stress management, nutrition, exercise, and work/life balance. Life is to be lived and enjoyed! I love to be creative in my approach to wellness, keeping my clients’ goals and objectives in mind. I try to keep it fun and challenging, always wanting them to leave me feeling accomplished, tired and smiling.

Yoga has been a life changer for me! I struggled with injuries as an early teen. I was once a gymnast, dancer and played in multiple sports until a back injury took that away from me. I found yoga on the beach in Hawaii in my early 20’s. I was hooked, I started doing yoga 3 times a week upon my return. I found myself feeling strong again, my back wasn’t hurting and I could start doing more and more. I HAD to share this with as many people as I could! I went back to school and took the classes I need to for my certification and dove head first into learning to teach. I have been a certified yoga instructor for over 22 years. I have taught at smaller gyms, studios and larger corporate gyms. My classes were wall to wall with amazing people. It makes me so happy to bring yoga and a healthy lifestyle choice to so many people. Since covid in 2020 I moved my teaching outside to a beautiful park in Centennial. What started as a way to connect during that crazy time, has turned into a consistent 5 days a week in the park. What a gift!

My working with natural stones has been SO MUCH FUN! I can get lost in the stones…I like rocks! The energy of the stones brings me so much joy. Visually, I love creating beautiful, one of a kind pieces and get so excited when each piece finds its person. I truly believe, the stones pick you! I am not a real “tech savvy person” so tackling the website was daunting. I told my family that I had a goal to get an online presence for my jewelry by the end of that year. I did some research and dove in again. I have web presence, but to be honest, it is hard to manage to keep current with all my inventory. I believe that to see and touch is so much better than any picture. I mostly sell in person at markets, home shows and at yoga. I would love to get some of my pieces in a local shop or two. That is my goal for this year! These aren’t your typical malas (bracelet or necklace), I say words of affirmation with each stone I place and every piece comes with a hand written card telling you a little about the stones and the energy and symbolism of each. I feel like everything now is mass produced and I love that I make each piece, hand write each card and speak into each stone.

Was it easy? Nothing has been easy, but so rewarding. I find the journey an adventure of self discovery. Grit and tenacity aren’t around as much anymore. A lot of people are looking for the quick and easy route. Love and time spent makes things just a bit more satisfying. I pour myself into every aspect of my life, whether it’s being a wife, mom, sister, daughter, friend, person trainer, life coach or creator. My purpose in my time here is to help make lives better, however I can.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Time with my best friend would be a lot of opportunities to catch up, wander and laugh. We would start with a morning walk in Wash Park or around my neighborhood. while air is still cool and then head to a local coffee shop for a coffee, croissant and casual conversation. There are so many cool little coffee shops today! I Love the Taste of Denmark for their pastries, but I might save that for another day when we are headed out for a hike. We would have to go antiquing just to see what fun things we could find. I’d love to take her to Red Rocks and have lunch by the stream in Golden. Comedy works in Landmark is always fun! Who doesn’t love to laugh? I’m all about a little work before play so I’d love to head south to Manitou Springs and climb the incline and have brunch at one of the super cute cafes and then wander the shops of Manitou. A good day at the Woodhouse Spa sounds like a super good idea! A day of pampering is never time wasted! A casual delicious meal at Indulge at the Streets of Southglenn with a nice glass of wine and healthy dinner, after all, life is about balance! A day in the mountains…I’d probably pick Vail or Breckenridge to walk around town, a hike and a nice lunch before heading back to town to beat traffic. If there is time, we would head up to Strawberry Springs for a day in the natural hot springs. There is so much to see and so many cool places to eat in Denver, it’s hard to narrow it down.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d love to give a shout out to my family! My husband, kids and parents have been so supportive, encouraging and my biggest cheerleaders. They push me to do what makes me uncomfortable and celebrate my achievements. Without them I wouldn’t be who I am today. Much love and gratitude
