We had the good fortune of connecting with Ellen Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ellen, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Way back in 2005 I was in a Pilates class and made a joke with the instructor.
I had this amazing belly laugh that made me feel so good, I decided that why not do an exercise class with laughter.
( I thought it was my idea?).
After researching that idea I found that a doctor in Mumbi India, had a similar idea and
started a movement in 1995 called Laughter Yoga.
When he came to California in 2006, I went to his training and became a Laughter yoga
facilitator.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started facilitating laughter yoga for anyone!
The truth is EVERYONE loves to laugh.
However, it takes letting go of any masks in other words you need to be
vulnerable. That sounds easy enough, sadly not everyone is able to be
themselves, without fear of being judged.
The good thing about laughter is you can’t think while your laughing
so you can’t be to concerned about what others are thinking!
You really get to let go and just enjoy yourself even though you are with other people.
I ask people to ask themselves on a scale of 1 to 10 how much they are willing to let go…
I secretly hope that everyone wants to go to the max because it all spills over to the other
students….in this game of life!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Boulder so really most anywhere in Boulder has any kind of attraction.
Downtown Pearl Street mall, Chataqua Park, Scott Carpenter Park.
Bike trails throughout the City.
The first Friday Art Walk in NOBO
Flagstaff Mountain
St. Jullian Hotel…really there is much to experience and enjoy here!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dr. Madan Kataria founder of laughter Yoga worldwide.
After training me would say with his smiling eyes and chuckle in his voice
would say ” I see the divine in you”
Laughter is a language of the heart.
Once you look into another person’s eyes and realize we are all one..
just the simple magic of laughter takes care of the rest.
No separateness just a blossoming of a real connection regardless of whom you
are laughing with another human being is fostering a pure life experience.

The last photo is what we do at the end of a laughter yoga session.
We pull out our mats or lay on the floor or the grass and do a laughter meditation.
For around 10 minutes.
Kind of an oxymoron, because that is usually the time when everyone is so relaxed
that when the real genuine laughter bubbles up from the deepest part of your soul..
.Ahhh now you can really let go!
