We had the good fortune of connecting with Chris Packert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chris, what is the most important factor behind your success?
As with most things in life, success cannot be attributed to one (most important) thing. I would align my success with several pillars which include: relationship building skills, talent identification, pursuit of delivering a high quality product, transparency within the product development phase, and ability to meet tight timelines. These pillars are what make Emerge ID popular among our client base and are what allows is to grow from one year to the next.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Certainly, The business that I started is called Emerge ID. ID stands for Instructional Design and I named it Emerge because it aligns with a person’s vision of what they hope to become within the profession that they have selected. We are a custom workforce training company that offers a turn-key approach to workforce training by bringing together its professional team members with expertise in LMS management, curriculum development, instructional design, graphic design, animation development, and video production and editing. Our company creates all aspects of an engaging and professional training curriculum in one swift team approach for the following educational models: instructor-led training, blended learning, eLearning, and virtual instructor-led training methods. We create educational products in the following categories: Employee Onboarding, Leadership & Management Training, Sales & Product Knowledge Training, Reskilling & Upskilling of Workforce, Talent, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Training, Compliance Training, and Training in Creating Cultural Change. This list is also not exhaustive. Our innovative, collaborative, and streamlined approach allows us to create training opportunities for virtually any topic.
The formation of Emerge ID has formed organically over several years as the need for our services has grown and word has spread of our experience, customer-focused friendly service, utilization of best-practices, ability to work within tight timelines, and the high-quality educational experiences that we develop. I believe one distinction that sets us apart from other organizations within the field of education is the guidance that I provide to our team which stems from my own experience and understanding of how people learn. In my tenure as an educator, I have been a summer camp director, working with children from 1st grade through high school, a high school science teacher, a high school head baseball and tennis coach, a university instructor, an instructional designer who has worked for NASA, The Marine Corps, and for two universities, a ski instructor, a head ski coach, and a Manager of Coach Development for an Olympic National Governing Body. These experiences have taught me how to create transformational relationships and educational content that is scalable, replicable, relevant, engaging, and impactful.
Through my relationships, I have identified and hired an amazing team of content developers in the fields of LMS administration, curriculum development, instructional design, graphic art, animation development, and videography. The cohesion that I see among team members is just awesome. I am most excited about our future which looks bright as we continue to grow and help people learn their craft. We take great pride in the courses and educational experiences that we create and we truly care about their end result. We want learners who engage with our products to have a high rate of return on their investment. Our goal is to create educational products for our end consumers that serve as a spring board to develop knowledge, build skills, and create personal professional behaviors that help them stand out as leaders in their field while helping their organization maximize its own return on investment.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Since I live in the mountains West of Denver, I can really only speak to the area from Silverthorne to Grand Junction. I assume that “my best friend” has the same interests as me, so depending upon the time of year, the focus of his/her trip would center around either skiing/snowboarding in winter, or camping, hiking, mountain biking, dirt bike riding, and disc golf in the summer. I’ll choose summer to develop my itinerary. A trip to the mountains would not be complete without the following destinations: 1. Breakfast at the Sunshine Cafe in Silverthorne then a round of disc golf in Frisco is a must
2. Mountain biking the various trails on Vail Mountain including The Grand Traverse, Radio Flyer, Big Mamba, PMT, Mane Lane only to name a few
3. Afternoon drinks and nachos at Garfinkels in Lionshead
4. Morning hike at Piney Lake at the foot of the Gore Range
5. Lunch at Vendettas in Vail on the patio
6. Breakfast at the Stout House Coffee and Kitchen
7. A round of disc golf at the Hole In The Sky Disc Golf Course in Eagle
8. Mountain biking around Eagle including Haymaker, Boneyard to Pool and Ice, and Eagle Ranch Loops
9. Lunch at Moe’s Original Bar B Que
10 Dinner and drinks at Boneyard/ 7 Hermits
11. Dirt biking Hard Scrabble Mountain including Easy Rider, Itch & Scratch, and Cat Walk
12. Dinner at Everest Napal Restaurant in Glenwood Springs
13. Grand Junction/ Fruita: Mountain biking Lunch Loops, 18 Road, Kokopelli Trails
14. Pizza at Hot Tomato in Fruita
