We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Lee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting the Business was really out of neccesity. I was working with many high level athletes as a strength and performance coach. However, I was in a shared space with many moving parts. Ultimately I wanted my athletes to have a safe and private controlled environment for them to train in. I wanted a place for them to call home base. So I did some research and the numbers made sense and I opened my business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We always say our business motto is simple: Go above and beyond, do whatever it takes. We work with anyone who wants to pursue a physical endevor. This can range from just getting stronger, overcoming a chronic issue, getting started in sport, to going to the olympics.

When it come to what sets us apart I cannot speak too much to that. All I know is that we operate with the highest level of care and attention to detail. We are much more focused on how we can improve which may include learning from other businesses. We are not here to compare, we are just here to endlessly grow and provide a better service for our clients.

I am really proud of the extremely high number of success stories we help create. We have helped athletes achieve an Olympic berth or overcome a multi year long issue that greatly hindered their performance. I am excited to continue to build a team of practitioners that are second to none. From there we will expand into a larger space and create a truely holistic and integrated experience.

It was definitely not easy. I opened my doors Jan, 01, 2020 just in time for Covid to shut the world down. BRUTAL for in person fitness. However, if life presents a challenge there is a growth opportunity there for the taking. Although I qualified for the PPP loan, I knew others needed that funding more than I did. I also thought it was a great challenge to try to grow my business during one of the hardest times in the industry. I succeeded with much help and support from my clients, community and loved ones. Even from then until now, I have made many mistakes that have set me back or slowed progress. Those lessons were hard learned but needed. Ultimately those failures fall upon myself. A large one was hiring without the proper systems in place to allow my hires to succeed. I failed my employees by not having my systems in place to allow them to succeed. Those systems are now in place. Lesson learned.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Man, I get so excited to show all of my friends the Boulder, CO area!

They are usually in for quite the excursion!

1) Take them up to a giant hike, bike or run in the mountains. Get a feel for that altitude, but also appreciate the beauty and the serenity the mountains offer! Brainard Lake is a favorite of mine! Well stop by Boxcar for some coffee and pastries before or after!
2) Another favorite is Nederland for some pizza and more mountain life!
3) A new spot that a friend of mine just opened is Skratch Cafe on Pearl st. Owned by the Hydration company Skratch Labs, they have AMAZING food made from skratch and hydration mix on tap. All the employees are awesome and the energy there is great! Healthy and delicious, perfect for people active like myself.
4) I do love a drive up flagstaff mtn or lefthand canyon any of the major bike routes I love but not everyone wants to do haha. I actually once tricked a buddy into riding from Boulder to Winter Park with me. 75 miles of hard terrain and mountain passes…he is from Jersey and had no idea what he was in for!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are so many people that have helped me to where I am now. Many with different lessons I had to learn. My parents of course who have provided me with nothing but love and support. They also showed me every single day what it meant to work hard. My college swim coach Brian Mclaughlin taught me lessons of resilience and discipline, along with some tough love. It was what I needed. Lastly all of the friends who believed in me and supported me along the way!
