Meet Dean C. Ferraro | Novelist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Dean C. Ferraro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dean C., career-wise, where do you want to be in the end?
My end goal as a writer is to have at least one of my novels selected from which to make a major motion picture or television series.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
One of the things that I think sets me apart from a lot of other writers in the thriller/suspense genre is that some of the most unbelievable events in my novels are ideas initiated by real life events that I’ve experienced during my legal career as an attorney. It is from those experiences that I have been able to come up with ideas for my novels. But that is where the easy part ends. Finding the time and having the discipline to complete a novel while practicing law and having young children is no simple task. Fortunately, that has taught me to be consistent and persistent in trying to write at least a little bit every day. By doing that, eventually you will end up with a completed novel. And the satisfaction from that accomplishment is greater than I ever imagined.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take him to Coors Field to see a Rockies game. The atmosphere is fun, the stadium is iconic, and the weather is usually ideal. It also gives one a glimpse of what great sports fans Colorado has when they experience a lively crowd cheer on a team that is usually out of the playoff picture two months into the season. I’d then take them to McGregor Square after the game for a beer or two. Another day I would take them to Breckenridge Brewery for some great food and great Colorado beer. The next day, perhaps enjoying one of the many beautiful golf courses in the area, such as Bear Dance Golf Club in Larkspur. Another day, I’d take him for some early morning fishing at one of the nearby lakes. And of course if it was during winter time, a day of skiing would be a must.
