We had the good fortune of connecting with Debbie Siebers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Debbie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Approaching 54 years old at the time, I had developed so many body limitations and had kept throwing my back out. When I began doing mobility, strength and endurance drills on a consistent basis, it began to alleviate this problem and soon I was able to avoid this from happening again. Through my own process of gaining strength and overcoming not only my low back, but other chronic issues I had been dealing with over the years, I realized that everyone could use some of these exercises and drills to address their own limitations. Not to mention, over the years, I have had thousands of requests to create a true beginning program for people who were older, had joint issues or just wanted a softer way to ease into fitness. My Slimin6 program, even though it included a beginning workout, was still too challenging for so many people. Because I couldn’t exercise the way I use to, and I knew so many people were in the same boat, I became passionate about creating a thorough program to address all of these concerns. I wanted to offer a solution to people who had the desire to workout but needed low impact cardio, strength workouts that didn’t stress their joints, and routines to help improve balance, agility, mobility, stability and flexibility. That is when I decided to take my own money out of my savings, hire a director, find a production company here in Denver, develop the 9 routines, hire some of the people that took my classes to be in the background, and shoot my first Body Dynamix Program.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My fitness career started in 1989 when I became a personal trainer for “Body-by-Jake”. The experience I gained training so many different people at varying fitness levels afforded me the confidence when “Beachbody” approached me in 1998 to create their very first program “Great Body Collection” with Tony Horton, and then my own fitness program, “Slimin6,” which went on selling through my TV infomercials for 17 years becoming one of the longest running infomercials in history. It is still currently available on Beachbody’s digital platform, www.beachbodyondemand.com. At 53, I relocated to Denver and decided to start my own Health and Wellness Company with Fadi Sayegh called Livati, which stands for Live, Vitality, Wellness. Getting older, developing certain limitations and unable to exercise the way I use to, I felt passionate about creating a kinder approach to exercise that included all kinds of different routines for the 50+ consumer, true beginners or people who are overweight, and anyone who was looking for low impact cardio, joint friendly strength training workouts, balance and mobility drills, as well as healing and restorative routines. This journey has proved to be very challenging, and Fadi and I have been met with many obstacles and roadblocks over these past 6 years, but we have remained positive and true to our vision to empower people to stay active and live their lives with vitality. Due to Covid and financial struggles to market our programs the way we need to, we have decided to pivot and create a subscription program in addition to providing my programs both on DVD as well as on a digital platform. It has been anything but easy, but we are determined and move forward in faith knowing that my programs can help so many people who are struggling with their health and fitness goals. We have already been so encouraged by the thousands of happy customers and wonderful testimonials we receive on a daily basis. That is truly what inspires us and keeps us moving forward. What separates Livati from the rest, is my 30 years of hands on experience creating several different kinds of exercise programs, and now being 60 years old, offering a solid solution to the Baby Boomers and anyone else who doesn’t want or can’t do high intensity workouts. We want the world to know how much we stand by our programs, how passionate we are about helping people thrive to live their best lives and that we are here 24/7 to answer any questions you have, motivate and show encouragement and offer the support you need.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Oh gosh now there’s a question. Since it’s Covid time as I’m answering this question, I am pretty limited as to how I would answer. So, let’s pretend the world is back to normal and that there are no limitations or restrictions. Landmarks or destinations i would want to include are a ride to the top of Pike’s Peak to soak in that fabulous view at the Summit, not to mention enjoy that crazy and scary trek up the mountain in that cog railway. Another spot I would most definitely include is a trip to Union Station, browsing the array of top restaurants, bars and shops in addition to the fabulous Crawford Hotel. A shopping spree in Cherry Creek would be on my itinerary with lunch at Cherry Creek Grill and a Happy Hour later on the rooftop of the Halcyon to enjoy the beautiful views and then dinner at either Quality Italian for their ambiance and decadent cheesy parmesan garlic monkey bread that melts in your mouth or the Narrative Restaurant located in the modern and trendy Jacquard Hotel. A trip to downtown Denver is a must to see the charming lights of Larimer, pop into the shops and stop by either Ocean Prime or Capital Grille for a cocktail. On Sunday, I would venture out to Colorado Springs to the remarkable Broadmoor Hotel for their over the top brunch, walk the gorgeous grounds, and then take a ride to the Steven Falls and go for a nice nature hike. Other favorite spots I would try to include are a drive to Evergreen for paddle boarding and then lunch at Willow Creek sitting out on their fabulous outdoor deck. A walk through my favorite Wash park with my sweet dog, Barney, is also a must. This park at any season is truly one of the most beautiful parks I’ve ever seen all through my extensive travels. The list is truly endless as Denver has so much to offer, especially for anyone who loves nature and the outdoors.
