We had the good fortune of connecting with Demian Rivera and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Demian, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Chance and going for it, with the support of friends and family. The opportunity of doing tattoos presented it self. In a different time (The 90s). Before the internet and when it was still highly frowned at. Many said you’ll be a struggling artist. you’ll go hungry etc. I said F-it . Started and slowly found about the history and how much more there was behind Tattooing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Tattoo artist. Most styles. I don’t know if it sets me a part from the rest but just looking to give people a nice tattoo that they will enjoy for a long time. I’m proud of still being able to offer good work to regular folks . It was not easy we had no internet and the information about tattooing and art in general was very minimum. Lots of trips to book stores, libraries, and any other place where cool stuff could be found for inspiration. Lessons along the way ….. Be clear with your clients and never let anybody step on you. No matter how famous or well known they are. About me hummmmmm? A simple guy that loves having a blast doing good tattoos on people with a good vibe.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
