We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephen McMillon II and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephen, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Koncrete Eden started back in 2009 as a Krump dance team, founded by Stephen Mcmillon II and co lead by Trevor Jackson. We would have dance sessions and street battle. We used this as a outlet for youth and young adults to have instead falling into something negative. After a while I wanted to add merchandise to the brand so i started designing clothing.

After putting the brand down in 2016, it was on hiatus until 2020. When Stephen Mcmillon learned that he could create shoes he picked the brand back up. We wanted to create a shoe that was a expression of faith and cultivating the the best version of your self, feeling comfortable in your own shoes wink wink.

Koncrete Eden is shoe company. We believe in being Koncrete with God, Being Koncrete with others, and being Koncrete with your self

What I’m most proud of regarding the brand the most is that I have been able to help artist, athletes, and entrepreneurs dreams come true by designing their own shoe brand. I have also had the opportunity to give back to the community with the homeless and less fortunate kids

The founder of the company is a expert in E-commerce and drop-shipping, and has skills in social media marketing. This helped in my success because it helped scale the business faster than it would without it. This definitely was obtained over time, as this took years of mastering and learning the art of failure which are stepping stones to success.

Something that gave me leverage over other clothing companies was having a mentor, he would direct me to the pathways of where he failed at so I would not have to fail in those areas.

One of the biggest lessons that i learned was to stay true myself and who God created me to be! That’s literally what it means to be koncrete with your self.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would definitely take them to the garden of the Gods and do a hike there. We probably would also do picnic at red rocks as well. One of my favorite food spots out here is the crawling crab i absolutely love that place. I love the feel of 16th street mall with music and all the artist down there! i used to love going to Jazz at jacks and just vibing out. One of my favorite places to go is the school of breaking and watching all the dance sessions

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I love to give a shout out to my father, who has been my hero since i was a young child. He is a big inspiration in my life and he is a big reason I am the man that I am having the will to never give up.

Also my fiancé as she is the greatest asset in my life has been a motivation, and huge help. I owe a lot of my success to her.
