We had the good fortune of connecting with Dena Gould and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dena, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Most people don’t realize that emotions are stored in the body, not just the mind. The work we do together is cellular. Everything is energy, and when we move stuck energy, people feel the difference. I’ve had clients laugh, cry, yawn, shake and then walk away feeling ten pounds lighter.

It’s not for everyone. It’s vulnerable work, but that’s where the freedom begins. Emotions are meant to be honored, not ignored. People are often shocked by how much their body shift.

You’d be amazed how many people cry on my table and then go get a promotion, meet their soulmate, or finally sleep through the night. It’s powerful. It’s beautiful. Energy is everything and when yours is aligned, your whole life starts working better. Period.

What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve been running my emotional energy healing practice for almost 20 years now, and what I’m most proud of is my consistency. I’ve treated my business like a business, not a hobby, even when things felt hard or unclear. I show up. I stay in integrity. I don’t ride the wave of ego or trends. I’m here to serve.

What sets me apart is that I hold my clients responsible for their own happiness. I do it with deep love, but no fluff. I create a nonjudgmental space where people can finally let their guard down, be who they really are, and release what’s no longer serving them. It’s vulnerable work, but that’s where the magic lives.

Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy, it’s a hustle. But I’m fueled by purpose, not pressure. I overcome challenges by setting clear intentions and by allowing myself space to feel. Yes, that means crying and bitching to my girlfriends when needed, then regrouping and coming back to center.

Some lessons? Whew — so many. But here are a few I live by. I practice what I preach (Ha). I remember that I am the creator of my reality. Life is a simulation so I do my best not to take it so damn personally. I try to have fun and attract the experiences that I desire. I also believe that there are no mistakes. Everything happens for my highest good.

If I could shout one truth to the world it would be this (and yes, it might piss a few people off): You have all the answers within you. You just have to slow down, listen, and trust your process.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We’d eat at Chaka’s, Golden Saigon, Jack’s on Pearl, and Mason’s Dumpling Shop.
Red Rocks for a concert or walking the stairs.
Dancing at Pindustry when Funkiphino or Soul School is playing.
A visit to my friends for a little magic. A medium reading with Kim Moore. A sound bath with Rebecca Cordiano and Qigong in City park with Soozie Kinstler
Then off to Pagosa Springs or Glenwood Springs for hiking, hot springs, and deep chill time.
Maybe a stroll through a Farmers Market or some vintage shopping.
Good food, good music, nature, and soul — that’s my kind of week.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a shout-out to Byron Katie, whose work has been an impetus in my journey. Her method, named “The Work,” has been a game-changer for me and my clients. It’s all about identifying and dismantling those limiting stories we tell ourselves. Because I have done “The Work” it’s easier for me to call my clients out on their B.S. stories and help them take their power back from “a thought” that they were believing. There is so much freedom in this. However, it is humbling.

You can explore her transformative approach at www.thework.com. Byron’s influence has been a guiding light in helping others break free from the stories, holding them back and stepping into true freedom.
