We had the good fortune of connecting with Diana Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Diana, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind the success of the ActivArmor brand is that it truly serves an unmet and critical need that can improve the quality of life of millions of people worldwide. If your product or service does this, and you can clearly communicate your value proposition in a consistent and ethical way, you can’t help but be successful!

At ActivArmor, our mission is to give people their lifestyle freedoms back while they’re healing. Our customers can see this mission underlying every aspect of our business.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
ActivArmor is changing the game in orthopedics by providing the only sanitizable casts and splints on the market. Our products give the millions of people requiring immobilization for injuries or chronic conditions the ability to practice basic hygiene like showering and sanitizing their hands while they heal. Obtaining buy-in for a digital process in a risk-averse, cost-centered industry with a casting process that has been the standard of care for generations, has not been an easy road! We’ve had to address and overcome regulatory, billing, hospital bureaucracy, covid closure, supply chain, and other seemingly insurmountable issues – and we did it through belief in our mission, and willingness to bootstrap and innovate. We’ve learned that failing quickly is the fastest way to evolve, and that sometimes you have to make tough choices in order to survive and grow.
I’d like the world to know that the ActivArmor product and brand is here to challenge the status quo! We never want another provider to have to tell a patient “don’t wash your hands for weeks” during a global pandemic, an elderly patient not able to get in and out of the shower with a leg cast, or another child’s summer vacation ruined by an injury.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friends come to visit in Denver, we always stay downtown near 16th street mall, and enjoy the city by foot – great food, entertainment, shopping and sight seeing. We may see a comedy show or take in a local band playing. If we had all week, I’d probably take them to the Denver Zoo, the Natural History Museaum and the art museum, and maybe a drive to my alma maters – Colorado School of Mines and CSU in Fort Collins Campuses. Then, of course, I’d bring them to my home town of Pueblo, and we’d explore the river walk and trails/water sports at Lake Pueblo. We’d attend the Chile and Frijole festival and eat sloppers, of course!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brother is my inspiration, and I wouldn’t be here without his influence on my life. He lived with a terminal genetic disease, Cystic Fibrosis, and not only faced unbearable physical challenges with strength, grace and humor, but helped and inspired thousands in his too-short time on the earth. He inspired me to take chances and create a life that matters, in service to others. To never take the day for granted and to make the most of it.
