We had the good fortune of connecting with Dominique Rock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dominique, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Relationship building! From the moment I meet a client to the very end of our session, I am aware they are vulnerable and treat them as I would a very best friend. By allowing them to feel supported through this process we create a bond that in some cases has lasted forever. This is not a sales tactic but just the way it organically happens. Through process my clients trust me and in turn recommend me to their friends which has been the most important factor in the success of my brand.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I believe what sets me apart from others is the personal relationship we build along the way. From the very first discussion I listen and learn about your wants and needs and am there for you anytime along the way. We will be in constant communication and truly become friends after the process. I am most proud of the feeling my clients get after our process is over. Purging items that you have held onto for sometimes reasons that are very personal and replacing them with new beautiful flattering pieces brings a joy to someone that I can’t describe. Hard work and determination is the typical answer to how I got here today but is 100% the truth. A lot of long hours of creative sessions & free sessions to help get the word out. COVID also put a huge damper on business last year since everyone wore pj’s all day. I had to just continue to post outfits on my social media to stay relevant and really talk up the closet cleanout aspect I do as well. It was difficult, but I have overcome and people are starting to get dressed again! I want the world to know that I am on a mission to create a wardrobe that allows you to feel like the most empowered and confident version of you through your own personal style.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love that we live so close to the mountains and all of the great mountain towns. I would take a friend visiting for a hike in Golden during the day, grab lunch in their cute little downtown area then head back to Denver for dinner in Larimer square. Our city also offers great museums and fantastic dining with amazing views. El five is one of favorite spots for tapas and views of the city for days.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely have had a special tribe of people that supported my dream, helped craft my website and business plan. My husband has been so supportive as well as my good friend who also happens to be an amazing photographer and branding consultant.
