We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Josephine Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Josephine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my business was born from both pain and purpose. I saw too many people — especially women — functioning, performing, and succeeding publicly while silently struggling privately. I wanted to create a space where they could exhale, heal, and rediscover themselves without judgment.

When I launched Calming Minds PLLC, it wasn’t just about building a therapy practice — it was about creating a safe haven for restoration. Over time, my mission expanded beyond clinical care to coaching, speaking, and mentorship. That’s where my program From Fraud to Favored™ was birthed — out of my own experience with imposter syndrome and the realization that even the most accomplished women can feel unseen or unworthy.

My thought process was simple but powerful: combine clinical expertise with faith-based wisdom to help others bridge the gap between mental wellness and divine purpose. I didn’t just want to treat symptoms; I wanted to transform lives.

Entrepreneurship, for me, has never been about chasing success — it’s about answering a calling. And every client, class, and conversation reminds me that when you walk in your purpose, provision always follows.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business, Calming Minds PLLC, was created to help people find peace in a world that glorifies performance. As a Licensed Psychotherapist and Certified Master Mental Health Coach, I merge clinical psychology with faith-based principles to help high-achieving women overcome imposter syndrome and rediscover confidence rooted in truth, not perfection.

What sets my brand apart is its focus on transformation, not just treatment. Through my signature program, From Fraud to Favored™, and The F.A.V.O.R.E.D. Method™ Journey, I guide women to release self-doubt, embrace healing, and lead with emotional and spiritual authority.

The journey wasn’t easy — I started with vision before resources and learned to let faith lead when finances were tight. Every challenge refined my resilience and deepened my purpose. The greatest lessons I’ve learned? Resilience will take you where recognition can’t, rest is a leadership strategy, and alignment will always outperform ambition.

At its core, my business is about reminding people that they are not impostors — they are favored. My story is living proof that healing and success can coexist when you lead with purpose, faith, and authenticity.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend came to Denver, we’d spend the week soaking up everything that makes this city feel like peace and possibility. I’d start our mornings with a little serenity — maybe a coffee or tea from Stella’s Coffee Haus or Jubilee Roasting Co., then a quiet walk through the Denver Botanic Gardens. It’s my go-to space to reset and reflect — beauty and stillness wrapped in nature.

Lunch would definitely be at Root Down — the food is fresh, flavorful, and has a creative twist that matches the energy of Denver itself. Midweek, I’d take them on a short drive to Red Rocks Amphitheatre — whether it’s yoga, a concert, or just the view, it’s impossible not to feel inspired there.

For some self-care vibes, we’d have a “wellness day” — a relaxing session at The Woodhouse Spa followed by some shopping at Cherry Creek North (because a little retail therapy never hurts). Dinner? Urban Farmer or The Capital Grille, where good food meets great conversation.

By the weekend, we’d explore local art in the RiNo Art District, catch some live music, and end one evening at ViewHouse with the city lights in the background.

To me, Denver is the perfect mix of creativity, calm, and connection — a city that feeds your spirit while reminding you to breathe.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without question, my first shoutout goes to God — the true CEO of every chapter of my life. Every opportunity, every platform, and every open door has been a reflection of His grace and divine timing.

Next, I want to honor my husband, Dr. Keith Harris, who has been my constant source of love, grounding, and encouragement. He believes in my vision even on the days when I question it, and his partnership allows me to lead boldly while still having a safe place to land.

I also want to give heartfelt recognition to my Pastor Kevin and First Lady Rodgers, whose spiritual guidance and unwavering faith have covered and strengthened me through every season of growth. Their leadership continually reminds me that purpose without prayer is just performance.

Special thanks also go to my Visibility Coach, Dr. Nikki Zeigler, whose wisdom and platforms have amplified my voice and helped me walk unapologetically in my calling, and to my Mental Health Coach, Kellene Diana, whose mentorship has nurtured both my professional excellence and my personal wellness.

I’m deeply grateful for my incredible Calming Minds PLLC team and the HERpreneur Network International, a community of powerhouse women who lead with both heart and integrity. Together, we are redefining what leadership, healing, and wholeness look like.

Lastly, I want to shout out to every client, student, and sister in purpose who has trusted me to walk with them on their journey toward healing and empowerment. Their resilience is my daily reminder that this work matters.

My story is not a solo success — it’s a symphony of faith, family, mentorship, and divine alignment.
