Meet Jonathan White | Automotive Repair Shop Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jonathan White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jonathan, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
At Phil’s Pro Auto, we believe that being in business is about more than just fixing cars it’s about taking care of people. For over 40 years, our shop has been part of the Greeley community, and we take that responsibility seriously. We provide safe, reliable transportation for families, students, and professionals, because we know that when someone’s vehicle is running properly, they can get to work, school, and important life events without worry.
Beyond auto repair, we also give back through community involvement. We support local schools, youth programs, and charitable organizations because investing in the next generation is just as important as investing in technology and training. We’ve also been intentional about creating good careers for our employees, offering training and growth opportunities that allow them to support their own families here in Northern Colorado.
In short, our social impact comes from combining expert automotive service with genuine care for our neighbors. We don’t just fix vehicles we help keep the community moving forward.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Phil’s Pro Auto has been part of the Greeley community for over four decades. My dad, Phil White, started the business with a simple but powerful goal: to provide honest, reliable auto repair that people could truly trust. Today, I have the privilege of carrying that legacy forward as the next generation of ownership.
What sets us apart is that we don’t just fix cars we take care of people. Vehicles are such a central part of daily life, and we take pride in helping families, students, and professionals stay safe and mobile. Our team is highly trained, and we invest in the latest technology, but what really matters is the care and respect we show every customer who walks through our doors.
Getting to this point wasn’t easy like many small businesses, we’ve faced challenges: high overhead costs, keeping up with rapidly changing vehicle technology, and learning how to build and lead a strong team. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that leadership is less about doing everything yourself and more about building up the people around you. With mentorship, especially through Shop Fix, and the support of my family, I’ve learned to delegate, trust, and focus on the bigger picture.
What I’m most proud of is the culture we’ve built one that values honesty, growth, and community. We’ve been fortunate to win “Best Auto Repair in Greeley” nine years in a row, which speaks to the trust our community has in us. We’ve been fortunate to win “Best Auto Repair in Greeley” nine years in a row, which speaks to the trust our community has in us. Beyond the awards it’s the personal stories that provide me a real sense of purpose a mom relieved to have her car safe for her kids, or a traveler back on the road after a breakdown that really means the most.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about our brand, it’s that we’re in the business of people, not just cars. Our story is about family, community, and integrity. We’re here to keep Greeley moving forward, one vehicle and one relationship at a time.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
This is a hard one as it really depends on the time of year as we all know Colorado has many options depending on the season. For this question I’ll make the assumption this would be during peak summer near the 4th of July.
We’d kick things off in Greeley with a meal at Lunas— one of my favorite local spots — and spend some time walking around downtown, maybe catching some live music if it’s happening. For a night out, I’d take them up to Social in Fort Collins, a great speakeasy-style bar with amazing drinks and atmosphere.
I’d make sure we hit the Greeley Stampede for rodeos, concerts, and just the whole experience. We’d also spend a day at Red Rocks, as to me it’s one of those must-do Colorado things. Another day trip could be heading up to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park for some hiking and mountain views you just can’t beat.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Absolutely. First and foremost, I have to dedicate a huge shoutout to my dad, Phil White. He started Phil’s Pro Auto over 40 years ago and laid the foundation not only for a successful business, but for the values we still live by today: honesty, hard work, and treating people right. Without his vision and relentless effort, none of this would exist.
I also need to recognize my wife, Melissa. She’s been a constant source of encouragement, and support through the challenges of leadership and growth. Running a business isn’t easy, especially having young children, and having her by my side has made all the difference.
Another key piece has been the mentorship I’ve received through Shop Fix. Their coaching helped me learn how to become a stronger leader, better manage the business side of things, and ultimately build something sustainable for both our customers and our team.
