We had the good fortune of connecting with Eleni Ottalagana and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eleni, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I’ve been exposed to holistic health and healing all my life.

It wasn’t until I was in the depths of my own health journey that I realized something was off about women’s health care.

After overcoming health challenges, largely self-directed… I decided I would dedicate my professional life to helping others.

This truly shaped how I practice today and was the guiding force behind starting my own business. I thought about what gaps I saw in our healthcare for women.

Especially with one specific syndrome, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS. Women are often provided medication or strict diet advice. Clinically, I have seen this leaves women frustrated, anxious around food and still struggling with unwanted symptoms.

I wanted to create a safe space where women can learn to trust their bodies, enjoy life again and feel connected with food and the earth.

This meant that I truly wanted to marry the principles of healthy living and eco-conscious living. I wanted to teach women how to connect with nourishing foods and create a balanced life. Especially in the busy world we live in today. The modern day female is faced with constant stress.

The purpose of the business I’ve created (Women’s Nutrition Clinic) is to deliver sound and effective nutrition & lifestyle tools to shift health to a more resilient and balanced state. We also work to empower females when it comes to advocating for their health.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

As I reflect throughout the years, my business has changed tremendously. While the values and purpose feel similar, how I show up through offerings do change. I always tune in and reflect on how can I make an impact? How can I best support individuals?

I believe in the mission of the Women’s Nutrition Clinic. And it has been years in the making.

We utilize holistic and integrative approaches to help women overcome health challenges with a root cause approach.

There is an emphasis on nutrition and lifestyle change. While we may also integrate lab testing and herbs/supplements when appropriate.

Meeting an individual where they are is key. That is why we offer a variety of services. From online programs, to group and individual nutrition coaching…there is something for everyone!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Austin, Texas there are a lot of awesome places to check out!

I am a huge fan of Barton Springs. You can find me starting my day with a few laps or lounging on the weekend with a few books. There is something so healing about water. And I can’t help but connect with my playful side and reminisce of pool days as a child.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mom, who was a driving force in my healing journey and exposed me to holistic approaches to healing early on.

My mentors throughout the years who reinforced the visions I had and have allowed me to support hundreds of women.
