We had the good fortune of connecting with Emma Crenshaw and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emma, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Honestly it all started when I was going to events and noticed the photo booths felt super outdated. Clunky setups bad lighting and mostly just printed strips that ended up shoved in a purse or tossed later. Meanwhile we’re all living on our phones everything is about instant sharing and content that looks good online. I saw this huge gap in the market for something more sleek modern and tech forward. I wanted to create a photo booth experience that actually fit into how people share memories today. So I built Mile High Photo Booth Rentals with that in mind. Something clean easy to use and focused on digital delivery social sharing and high quality content that people are actually excited to post not just keep.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I’m most proud of is the way we’ve shifted what people expect from a photo booth. We’ve brought something fresh and exciting to the Denver event scene. Whether it’s a wedding, brand launch, or community event, we bring the energy and the vibe that gets people hyped.

Getting here was definetly not easy. I had to learn everything from scratch and figure it out as I went. There were times I felt totally overwhelmed. Stuff broke, bookings got messy, and there were moments I thought maybe this was too big of a leap. But I kept going because I believed in what I was building. I leaned on other creatives, asked tons of questions, and trusted the process even when it felt messy.

I’ve learned to be flexible, to stay true to my brand vision, and that nothing replaces a good client experience. If people feel good using our booth, they’ll remember that feeling way longer than the photos.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting for a week I’d keep it simple and show them all my favorite spots. We’d start at Town Hall Collaborative for coffee and the cute market then hit El Camino for margaritas and tacos that always hit the spot. One night we’d go to Marigold for cocktails and plants because the vibe is just perfect. We live in the mountains so of course we’d do a hike and get out to Red Rocks for the views and some fresh air. That’s really all you need is some good drinks good food and some time outside.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt my shoutout goes to Mile High Queer Club and the incredible human behind it all, my girlfriend Whitney. She built this community from the ground up creating safe vibrant spaces where people can show up exactly as they are and feel seen supported and celebrated. Watching her lead with so much heart and purpose has inspired me every step of the way. Her work with MHQC has not only changed lives but also showed me what it means to build something meaningful with intention and love. My business wouldn’t be what it is without her example and the community she’s created. She encourages me every day to be the best version of myself.
