Meet Heather Hamilton | SEO Consultant and Agency Owner, Well Optimized SEO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Hamilton and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind our success is our commitment to genuine partnership with our clients.
We don’t just “do SEO” in a silo—we take a holistic approach, building a strong organic foundation first and then strategically layering in paid ads to accelerate results when it makes sense. By deeply understanding each client’s business, brand language, values, and goals, we create strategies that amplify their unique voice online.
At the heart of it, our success comes from building trust—both with our clients and with their audiences. We stay ahead of industry changes, simplify complex SEO and lead generation strategies, and always prioritize strategies that create long-term, sustainable growth rather than quick wins.
When we say holistic SEO, we mean looking at the entire picture—technical SEO to ensure a site is search-ready, content strategy that builds topical authority and drives the right traffic, local SEO to capture nearby customers, and conversion-focused on-page optimizations to turn that traffic into leads. By aligning all these elements, we create an SEO ecosystem that works seamlessly across organic and paid channels, so every marketing effort builds on the last.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My career has been anything but linear, and I think that’s what sets me—and Well Optimized—apart. I actually dropped out of high school, later earned my master’s degree, and went on to build multiple businesses. I started in fitness management and higher education, spending over a decade helping people build confidence in their health and careers. But like many entrepreneurs, I felt pulled toward creating something of my own. I pivoted into the online space, first building a successful fitness business, and along the way I discovered the power of SEO and digital marketing to truly change the trajectory of a small business.
It definitely wasn’t easy. I had to teach myself new skills, navigate imposter syndrome, and figure out how to build a business from the ground up—twice. But what kept me going was the belief that small businesses deserve more than cookie-cutter marketing strategies. They deserve a partner who understands their challenges, speaks their language, and aligns with their values.
I’m most proud that Well Optimized has become exactly that. We take a holistic approach—technical SEO, content strategy, local SEO, and paid ads—because no single tactic creates sustainable growth on its own. And we do it in a way that’s transparent, approachable, and empowering for our clients.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned along the way, it’s that success is never a straight path. Every pivot, every challenge, and every lesson has shaped the way I lead today—with empathy, curiosity, and a focus on building trust. I want the world to know that you don’t need permission or a “perfect plan” to start something meaningful—you just need to take the first step, even if it’s messy.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Morning at the Denver Art Museum, visit Levan Deli or take a food tour through Denver Central Market, catch a yoga class at Samadhi Yoga (where I did my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training), grab coffee or a mocktail/cocktail at Hello Darling Little Raven, a fancy dinner at Guard and Grace or Safta, then catch a show at the Clocktower Cabaret to finish the evening. A day full of some of my favorite Denver spots! Along the way, maybe we will stop in Englewood at Low Side Tattoo to get some ink.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely—our success is very much a collective effort, and there are so many people and experiences that shaped Well Optimized into what it is today. First, I have to give credit to the incredible network of small business owners and entrepreneurs I’ve met along the way. Their resilience, creativity, and willingness to share their journeys have inspired me to build an agency that truly supports and amplifies other businesses.
I also owe a huge shoutout to my team. They’re not just talented strategists—they’re deeply empathetic, values-driven people who genuinely care about our clients’ success. Their dedication to staying ahead of industry changes, while still making SEO and digital marketing accessible, is a big part of why we’ve been able to grow sustainably.
And finally, I’d recognize the broader community of women and LGBTQ+ business owners who continue to pave the way and prove that you can lead with authenticity and still thrive. Their stories remind me that our work isn’t just about rankings and traffic—it’s about helping businesses that truly matter be seen and heard.
