Meet Heather Urness | Transformational Life Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Urness and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, what do you want people to remember about you?
Legacy is such a potent concept for me and a major contributor to how I got into the work that I do today. I knew that I had a purpose beyond just making money, getting married, having a family and a 401k. I felt that restless urge deep in my soul that there was something bigger that I was meant to do. I had always felt the call to help others and impact people’s lives but it took me awhile to figure out how I would do that and to some degree I’m still watching that take shape. Legacy for me means following your soul’s calling and daring to break the mold and be different. I would like to leave a legacy as someone who was brave, followed her heart’s calling, and broke free from the societal and familial conditioning that keeps so many people imprisoned in lives that don’t serve them. I want to be remembered as someone who made the choice to heal herself and then to teach others how to heal too so that they can live better lives and create better lives for future generations.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the owner of my own transformational life coaching business. I work with clients 1:1 and in group settings to heal from their childhood and relational wounds so that they can cultivate healthier relationships with themselves and those closest to them. For me, I’m most proud of my own healing journey including overcoming the debilitating effects of a near death head trauma that I experienced at 19 years old. After suffering for years with panic attacks, anxiety and depression, I set out on a journey to heal myself so that I could go from merely surviving to totally thriving. I was able to heal my body, mind and spirit and now feel so blessed to help support others in their healing journeys as well. The road to where I am today was certainly not easy and I struggled along the way with imposter syndrome and loads of self-doubt. With the support of my own coaches / mentors, I have been able to rise above those challenges and step into confidence in who I am.
It sounds cliche, but my biggest lesson along the way has been to never give up. It’s ok to rest but don’t retreat. Also, that it’s important to trust your journey and cease comparison with others. Your journey is unique to you!
What I would want the world to know about me is that I am rebellious with a warrior spirit. I encourage my clients to follow their inner wisdom rather than listening to some guru or popular influencer. Everything that you need is already inside of you, and my job is to help you find that inner voice and learn to listen to it above all else.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were in town, a few stops on our list would be: The Denver Botanic Gardens – it’s absolutely gorgeous and there’s fun activities happening all year round. We’d likely also check out a concert at Red Rocks as it’s unlike any other music venue I’ve ever seen! We would also spend some time in Boulder hiking at El Dorado Canyon State park and Chautauqua Park – two of my favorite hiking spots! We would eat at Rosetta Hall since they’ve got so many food options and a rooftop bar! For the best herbal drink spot in town I would suggest going to Tonic in Boulder. They have the most unique drinks I’ve ever had and the atmosphere is super chill and zen! The Boulder Dushanbe Tea House is also another must see!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have so much gratitude for my two mentors who made the biggest impact in my healing / personal growth journey. Christine Hassler and Stefanos Sifandos are two incredible coaches and teachers that have inspired me and helped me grow into the person that I am today.
