We had the good fortune of connecting with Holly Cummings and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Holly, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When I decided to start Dainty Permanent Jewelry, my thought process was deeply rooted in the desire to build a community where people feel truly valued, loved and cared for. I wanted to create a unique experience that not only addresses the needs for my customers but also fosters a sense of belonging and connection.

My goal was to offer something distinctive when we started back in 2019 that goes beyond the transactional, focusing on genuine relationships and memorable interactions.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Dainty Permanent Jewelry is a one woman small business that focuses on the customer first. We create a curated and unique permanent jewelry experience at a pop-up, private event or at our studio in Platt Park. We only want the best for our customers – we only do 14k solid gold, not filled or plated chains here!

Being a one person business always comes with challenges, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. It allows us to maintain a personal touch in everything we do, ensuring every interaction is genuine and every decision reflects our core values. This is one piece that creates a truly unique and intimate experience.

Permanent Jewelry is meaningful because it symbolizes lasting connections, memories, milestones and much more. We feel honored to be a part of these special moments and it is a privilege to contribute to their stories.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Love this question! We definitely would hit up the following spots – Sweat Den (for workouts), Hoja for breaky and the best iced matcha, get outside with the pup for some hiking in Morrison and then head down to Rino and pop into Improper City, Barcelona, Mister Oso or Uchi (go during happy hour).

Since we are in Rino – we have to stop at Conifer. Caitlyn has the most beautiful, well curated store that focuses on small makers and every item has a story behind it.

Other spots we love and would visit during that week: Lavender Coffee, City Floral, Little Eden, CC’s Flowers (Fort Collins), JB Elliot (Loveland), La Fillette Bakery, any farmers market and Stowaway.

Places we would visit: Buena Vista – love Surf Hotel; been wanting to stay at Kinship Landing in the Springs!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost my family and friends – the backbone of Dainty. They have gone above and beyond in many ways and I am forever grateful. Bello Haven and owner Melissa in Johnstown was one of our first pop-up’s and they gave us an opportunity we will never forget. I am incredibly thankful to the small businesses that have given us a change to pop-up in their spaces. This support has allowed us to meet some of the most wonderful people with the most amazing souls, we are deeply grateful for these connections and the sense of community we’ve been able to build together.
