Meet Jacqueline Malcolm-Peck | Chef Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline Malcolm-Peck and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jacqueline, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
The most common conventional advice that I disagree with is what we learn when are young – to go when we feel ready. We all know they saying, “ready, set, go.”
I’ve also heard on it recently on many podcasts about trying to figure 100 % of things out first so you don’t have to fix things down the road. I evolve the most when I start taking massive action steps. I have flipped the script with “ready, set, go” and changed it to “go, set, ready”. If it wasn’t for the micro failures and mistakes, I would not have the opportunities and clients that I do now.
If I waited for the right amount of experience, I would have never understood what our team is capable of. It is also all about having the right people on your team to figure out the “what.” As long as the “who” is in place, the “what” is always possible. Then you go together.

What should our readers know about your business?
Greystone Castle brings guests and vendors a feeling of coming home. It is a place of creativity and deepening connections. Something we are most proud of is alongside attention to detail and caring about clients, we focus on caring deeply for our team members and vendors. When the entire team is happy and able to be present on event days – this is contagious energy that everyone taps into. Our course, taking care of clients is important, but when we grace that hospitality to all aspects and people in our business, that has come back 100-fold.
There have been many moments of doubting and wondering if I should keep going. These are moments of micro tests to see if I can go to the next level. When obstacles come up, I remind myself this is what it takes to get where I want to go. It is not a sign to stop, it is a sign to pivot, adapt, and keep going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Boulder is a city that I grew up in, and it has been intriguing to get to re-fall in love with it when I came back home post college.
There are many things to explore for a perfect day in Boulder with a friend in town. I would get a coffee at the Highland Club, take a walk along Boulder Creek, go to the farmers market for some dinner ingredients, go to the roof top at Corrida for a happy hour, pick up a bottle of wine from Boulder Wine Merchant, then go back to my house to cook a local meal.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents – Melissa Malcolm-Peck and Kirk Peck, my sisters, and my incredible friends, I owe everything to!
