We had the good fortune of connecting with Jacqueline Stone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jacqueline, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started Totems and Tarot with a desire to help people heal. My friend is an incredible tarot card reader, however she struggles with technology and self-promotion. I had started a tarot blog for fun during the pandemic as my work had slowed down considerably. I told her, “Hey, let’s put my marketing background to good use and add you to the site.” Hence the Healers Hub was born! It has since evolved to not only allow our clients to book healing sessions (such as tarot card readings, oracle card readings and energy sessions), but we also stock a ton of helpful healing products. Everything I put on the site I’ve used myself personally. We sell tarot decks, oracle cards, crystals, candles and other metaphysical tools. The response has been absolutely incredible. I’m blown away at how divinely timed this business venture has been. People are engaged in a level of self-discovery, growth and awakening that we’ve not witnessed before.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’ve had a very wild and dynamic career. I started off on wall street in NYC, moved into the advertising industry and then discovered fine jewelry. I’ve had roles in product development, project management, marketing and design. I built custom engagement rings for couples around the country. However, through all the twists and turns, I kept listening to my Highest Self and trying to follow my purpose. I moved to Colorado four years ago listening to that inner wisdom after the grind of the big apple became too much to bear. Best decision of my life!

When I first landed in CO I didn’t know what career path I’d be following. I stayed open and through a series of events started a marketing consulting business with a focus on the metaphysical community. When the pandemic hit and my marketing business tanked, I used it as an opportunity to to connect deeper with tarot. I’m coming up on ten years of sobriety and I attribute tarot to saving my life. I dealt with a lot of religious abuse as a child. When I came into recovery I was told to “find a Higher Power of my own understanding.” None of that clicked until the day I bought my first tarot deck. It helps me connect with my Guides and brings so much awareness. It’s been an honor sharing this tool with others. I’m so proud of the community we’re building and how in by healing each other, we heal ourselves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well this is easy as my cousin Emily came to stay with us for a week and I brought her to my favorite places while she was here!

First things first, we went to the Pearl Street Mall in Downtown Boulder where you’ll find tons of great shopping and restaurants. I’m a huge fan of Nomad Bead Merchants. Catherine, the owner, has become a dear friend and ‘adopted’ me when I moved to Colorado. She always is inviting me to family dinners. Her shop not only is a fun artistic experience, but a sort of community hub. People love to stop in and chat with her and the other owners, Margot and Jake.

I then took Emily on one of my favorite hikes in the Lost Creek Wildness. The great outdoors soothes my soul and Colorado is such a beautiful place. Mother Nature is definitely an artist and getting your friend out to hike or ski is a must while they are here!

Last, but definitely not least, we hit up Ritualcravt in Denver. This shop is a metaphysical mecca. They have a HUGE selection of tarot cards you can’t get anywhere else as well as potions, spells, crystals, wands, books…you name it. I really appreciate the staff here. They don’t try to sell you anything and extremely knowledgeable. If you ask them a question they are sure to give you a myriad of answers and techniques that they’ve personally used themselves. I absolutely love this shop.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d love to give a huge shoutout to Karla Refoxo of the Tulku Oracle. Karla is such a bright spirit and a dear friend. We’ve both had to pivot our entrepreneurial efforts dramatically this past year and I don’t think Totems and Tarot would exist without her love and support. I was one of the first to receive a reading on her beautiful new deck. It was the beginning of the pandemic and wasn’t really sure which way to turn. Through the cards and her beautiful guidance I made the decision to launch Totems and Tarot. It means so much to me that the business I’ve created was dictated by the cards. That is how much I believe in what I do! Karla is one of the Healers featured on our website. I highly recommend booking a session with her. You’ll walk away feeling renewed, uplifted and supported, not only by her but by your Guides.
