Meet Jake & Morgan Hardy | Owners, F45 Training Loveland CO

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jake & Morgan Hardy and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jake & Morgan, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Your level of success will be determined by one thing… how good you are at decision making.
And there are two things one needs to understand and be fully aware of, if they want to become a good decision maker: Time and Risk.
Both resources are always present. And both are perceived differently by every unique individual.
You can’t run from time, it will always keep moving forward. In the same way, you can’t run from risk because it will always be there.
It’s risky to start a business. It’s risky to rely on one corporation for your income. It’s risky to go to the gym. It’s risky to never exercise. It’s risky to ask a girl out. It’s risky to stay alone forever.
“It’s all risky.” – Jim Rohn
If we can’t escape the presence of risk, then our focus should be on what lens we see it through. Perception is the biggest contributor to how you make decisions.
You may look at a man who decides to open a food truck as a risk-taker. But if you knew that he spent his early adult life in culinary school, worked his way up to become a Michelin star chef, studied entrepreneurship and talked with restaurant owners on how to manage expenses and market their food… and THEN… opened up his food truck. Is that risky?
“Risk comes from not knowing what you’re doing.” – Warren Buffett
We had many people tell us that F45 was risky. There are tons of gyms in Northern CO, and to the outside eye, it looks like a venture that might not be worth it.
But with 13 years of experience in the industry, we knew the client we were looking to serve.
We knew we were NOT the right fit for all 150,000 people in the area. But there is a sliver of the market, who is craving the specific solution we provide. And that’s all you need.
And even if everything failed, we were ok with it. We knew the level of impact we wanted to make on this world, and the risk associated with this opportunity of serving others was riskier to avoid than to not take at all. We knew the full downside and were willing to live with it.
Risk is always there, but it can be mitigated by changing the lens you see it through. Knowledge gained through mentorship, research, and knowing your opportunity costs, will make for better decisions.
And better decision making will level up your success. Not only in business, but in relationships, your health, your faith, and all other aspects of life.
Risk is to be managed, not avoided.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
When we were under construction on F45 Loveland, people drove by the studio and told us to our face that we didn’t need another gym in northern CO.
But we knew the client we were looking to serve.
We knew we were NOT the right fit for all 150,000 people around us. But there is a sliver of the market, who is craving a place with energy and accountability from a loving community. They want expert coaching on form and nutrition, and they want workouts that are ready for them when they walk in the door. There is a sliver of the market that wants that efficient, effective, 45 minutes of premium, top-tier care that F45 offers.
So we did it.
We knew the level of impact we wanted to make on this world, and there were a limited number of opportunities, with our current skillset, where we could achieve that.
With two backgrounds in division 1 athletics, over a decade of experience in the fitness world, and both growing up in Northern CO, God used our past experiences to shape us into the people who are ready to use F45 to give back to the community that built us.
We left careers in software engineering and nutraceutical sales, to now partner up in business as a husband and wife team. Which could be a risk in itself, but when you have complementary skillsets and the same mission, it’s a true level-up.
God only knows the future of F45, but the mission will always be to serve the Northern CO region with the best fitness experience to the client we know best.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
