Meet Jasen Petersen | Engineer Turned Salutogenic Health Innovator | Developing Ion Biotechnology to Restore Healing & Defeat Chronic Disease

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jasen Petersen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jasen, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, it didn’t feel like I had much of a choice. After watching both of my parents die of cancer, it became clear that no one was really solving the core problem of why we get stuck in chronic disease in the first place. If the system wasn’t going to change, I felt I had to do something about it.
Eudaimonia grew out of the idea that health is something you can cultivate through neurosomatic integration to increase resilience and adaptability. The Ionic Alliance Foundation came later, when I realized the science of ion biotechnology could actually help restart stalled healing cycles at the cellular level. For me, starting these organizations wasn’t about entrepreneurship in the usual sense. It was about stepping into a gap that no one else seemed willing to fill.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For Eudaimonia, I’m most proud of what we did when the world shut down in 2020. While fear was everywhere and most people were acting like Chicken Little, we did our own research and realized the government wasn’t being honest. Instead of shutting down, we figured out how to keep going, and that summer turned out to be the best ever for 50 to 100 kids. I’ll never forget parents I had never met coming up to me in tears, thanking me for what we did for their children. The lesson for me was simple: you can’t wait for permission to do the right thing.
With the Ionic Alliance Foundation, I’m proud of creating a podcast that has been ranked by Apple Charts since day one, putting it in the top 0.1% of all podcats. That platform has given me the ability to introduce thousands of people to the Microimmune Dynamics framework I’ve been developing, and to start a bigger conversation about what true health creation looks like. The lesson there is: screw the qualifications, if you have something real to share, start sharing it.
And with Ionic Alliance Group, I’m incredibly proud that we’ve developed the first IBAL-based medical product for infection control and wound healing: Ion Gel ZCM-25. It has far surpassed any other antimicrobial or wound healing product on the market, and at a fraction of the cost. So far, we’ve saved the limb in almost every case where amputation was expected, and we did that not as a massive pharmaceutical company, but as a small, driven team. The lesson: just because it hasn’t been done and no one else can do it doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came in the summer, the week would start at Flourish Beach, our volleyball program at Eudaimonia. The community there is unmatched, filled with people who truly care about each other and love to play together. We would spend the next few days mixing in hikes in the foothills, evenings around a grill with friends, and another sunset game of volleyball before the week wrapped up. A midweek trip to Red Rocks for a concert would be the centerpiece. There is nothing quite like live music in that setting.
If they visited in the winter, the itinerary would shift further into the mountains. We would spend several days skiing at Crested Butte or Steamboat, depending on the mood of the group. Crested Butte holds a special place in my heart because my uncle’s family homesteaded it, while Steamboat gives the bonus of an evening at Strawberry Hot Springs after a long day on the slopes. We would also enjoy the mountain town vibes with a brewery visit or two and plenty of time to relax with friends.
For meals, the highlight would be sushi. My wife is Japanese and knows the best local spots, but the truth is, I would rather have her sushi than any restaurant’s. At least one or two nights would be dedicated to gathering friends, playing games, sharing stories, and enjoying the food she prepares. For me, the perfect week is not about rushing through every attraction. It is about creating a balance of play, time in nature, community, and good meals together.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely. My wife deserves the first shoutout—for stepping in to run Eudaimonia the right way and for supporting all of the crazy directions my work has taken. Kevin Rude also deserves recognition, both for introducing me to Ion Biotechnology and for being open enough to value my input. And I have to thank Mike Krysiac, whose brilliance as a scientist has made it possible to produce IBAL at true pharmaceutical grade. None of what I’m doing now would exist without the efforts of each of them.
