Meet Stacey Barch

We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Barch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacey, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
I’m a parent to two authentic and wonderful kids. My son is 17 and my daughter is 13.
I think the most important thing I’ve done as a parent is to be myself. I want to teach my kids that being true to themselves will keep them grounded with a “big picture” mindset. We can help others around us when we are feeling most connected with ourselves. I always tell my kids that this is my first day parenting them at the age they are and we’re all learning each day. I want them to know that the often quiet voice they hear within themselves is one they shouldn’t ignore- it’s their intuition.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
In addition to being a certified personal trainer, I’m also a Corrective Exercise Specialist, Youth Exercise Specialist and a Stretching and Flexibility Specialist. I’m certified in mental toughness, plant based diets, manual muscle testing, exercise as an anxiety intervention, SAQ training and integrated balance training. I have quite a few certifications because I love learning!
I enjoy working with all kinds of people but after years in the industry, I found that I am most driven to work with injuries, surgeries, postural distortions, traumatic brain injuries and movement compensations. Becoming a Corrective Exercise Specialist has helped me reach all different types of people.
I’m also a HAES provider- Health at Every Size. I promote health and strength in all shapes and sizes. I hope to reduce weight stigma in this industry by focusing on strength and wellbeing with clients, rather than intentional weight loss. Health is not specific to smaller bodies.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m originally from Southern California but I love Colorado! I love all the seasons.
My best friends already live here, but when I have family visiting, I love sharing my favorite things about this wonderful state with them:
We recently became boat owners, so all summer long we are at the lake wake surfing and being out on the water. Carter Lake and Horsetooth Reservoir are my favorite local lakes to play in.
In winter, we snowboard every weekend and day off that my kids have. I can’t wait to ride at Winter Park, Copper, A-Basin and maybe taking a trip over to Utah to ride Brighton and Snowbird. Colorado has so many wonderful resorts to ride!
I’m a big fan of Boulder. I love their canyons, hiking, the creek and their amazing locally owned restaurants. My favorites are Bar Taco, River & Woods, The Dushanbe Teahouse and Brasserie Ten Ten.
I hadn’t seen a concert at Red Rocks until a couple years ago and I don’t think I could see a concert anywhere else! Red Rocks is truly an incredible experience. A must go for anyone visiting.
I’m very partial to Summit County. I lived there for a couple years. To live surrounded by such beauty and wildlife was life changing for me. I’ll be honest- having a male moose roam around our neighborhood was my favorite part. I never knew what I was going to experience just opening my front door! Summit County and Ft. Collins are my favorite spots in this beautiful state.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Mu husband, Jesse. He’s been my biggest supporter. I’ve spent a lot of time in school earning certifications and he’s always been there for me with words of encouragement, helping me with the day to day things that can get in the way and giving me the push that I needed.
