We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Crock and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jesse, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?
I’m from Golden, Colorado and when people ask, they are always surprised I live where I grew up. I feel a swell of pride growing up and now raising my family. The city has been a blessing as an artist and been able to work with them on various artistic projects like several murals in town.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am an acrylic landscape artist and attempt to capture the vibrant Colorado colors. I show my work at Mtn Toad Brewery in Golden and at the Eddyline Brewery in Buena Vista. I feel extremely honored that people who buy my work find a connection with a place that they have been to or a feeling in Colorado.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If we were in Golden then there so many historical places to visit. Golden was the gateway to all the western mining and it has so many hidden gems. Do a mountain bike ride and then head to one of the 8 micro breweries that Golden has. Maybe take a dip in Clear Creek with all the tubers and finish the day with a backyard campfire. If we were in Buena Vista, start with a early bike ride near the New South Main area across the Arkansas River. Come have lunch at the Eddyline and have a brewery burger or wood fired pizza. Then go Flyfishing on the Arkansas or take a drive to the top of cottonwood pass and check out all the Fourteeners are in the area.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The City of Golden Mtn Toad Brewery
The Eddyline Brewery
