We had the good fortune of connecting with Jesse Taenzer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jesse, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always been driven to run my own businesses. It was my thought process that people usually liked to follow in what I have suggested and if I was going to have to deal with he issues of someone higher up that I could be that person.

This business, Pair O’ Dimes Festival Fashion Boutique, came from a need I had spoken to within the community at large that was destinations to find unique and hand made items from designers in their own neighborhoods. I was doing a lot of Vendor Coordination at Arise Festival and saw how much incredible art there was out there as well as the limited demand these artists were seeing due to the only exposure being out at the festival grounds or Online. A very dear friend who had heard my rants all too many times found the location where we still currently reside in Five Points, Colorado, and gave me the notice post haste. I walked in here and immediately could feel the potential of what was possible with some hard work and time. I said yes and signed papers on February 2nd 2018 and haven’t looked back!

What should our readers know about your business?
My biggest successes have come from giving other’s the chance to stand on the podium and be given the lime light. My business is a consignment store, and some of the artists in it have only been in their own bubble of influence. By giving them the ability to reach more people I have driven them to being more creative as well as blossomed their passions, which in turn has provided me with some of the most unique items that can be found on the market today.

As challenges have arisen it has been the community that we provide for that has come to our aid. Literally while we were closed for 96 Days we had previous patrons call in and se up appointments just to support and keep us afloat. I get to see this happen often in many different ways.

Pair O Dimes was given birth so that others could shine and be given a larger platform to announce their art to the world. That is all I have ever wanted from this space and it has not let me down!!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I would take them to my favorite vegan eateries, the Corner Beet and Vital Root as well as hit the farmers market in Cherry Creek.

For some night life I would probably go to Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom along with the Black Box, maybe Your Mom’s House if there was a cool shindig there. The New Gypsy House is awesome so I know we would end up there for a bit as well!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Family, both Blood and Chosen, have had huge hands in making everything I do possible. I couldn’t be where I am or the person that inspires others to continue working without the moments of encouragement and criticism they have given me.
