We had the good fortune of connecting with Joshua Bowsher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Joshua, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
There is always a need for disposal services in any economy. Also, people die and leave more than the family tends to want. With all of this said, when I moved to Montrose, I noticed there were no professional, insured junk and clutter removal companies here. So I started up my business here again.

What should our readers know about your business?
High Desert Haulers offers an insured junk removal service to both residential and commercial clients. While doing so, we do so with the mindset of we are to always be over delivering. Because of this, we keep our five star rating and keep our customers returning back for all their needs. We also get a ton of referrals for this same reason. I am where I am today in part due to my dad having a stroke as the primary caregiver for my mom with dementia and sister with CP. I lost my job in corporate America because I had to care for the family. I quickly had to figure out how I could keep paying my bills and provide for my family’s needs. I then began building this business along the eastern plains in Colorado. Biggest lesson I’ve learned is dont be the cheapest or most expensive. Be somewhere in the middle. And ultimately when you build your report, no one will even care about price. High Desert Haulers is all about providing you a superior product for your money and when ever possible, we also are big into giving back locally. We are members of the chamber of commerce and Rotory Club.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We would definitely enjoy all the local, small mom and pop eateries and go hiking daily! We are all into great food, cold beverages and great scenery.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
At an early age, I was told by my neighbor to read this book as he handed me ” Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. I loved that book and began reading several more of his books. He and his wife, Kim have mentored me through their books where I have learned so much!
