We had the good fortune of connecting with Julie Pomerantz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Julie, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risk-Reward assessment is foundational in my approach to business and to life. The saying “how you do anything is how you do everything” is something I work to live by. To me, life without risk, a life primarily lived in one’s comfort zone, is safe. However, the safety of comfort, without risk means we miss out on discovering, and fulfilling our full potential. Failure is unavoidable when we continually take risks, yet growth is also guaranteed. If I were to avoid risk, I would have continued to work a job for someone else and stay in my comfort zone. When I started “Resolve with Julie” it was a huge risk. I no longer had a consistent paycheck, my work hours went through the roof, I had to learn to attract clients, marketing, website maintenance, and so much more. My limits were tested each day as I faced what is required to run my own business. Each time I was tested, despite the struggles, I realized I am capable of so much, that I can truly learn anything and serve my community, and beyond, as long as I am willing to put in the work and learn from my successes and my failures. I believe as long as we pick ourselves up more times than we fall then we win the game of risk.

What should our readers know about your business?
My goal as a Personal Coach is to help individuals utilize a balanced lifestyle and connection with nature as “medicine” for healthy and happy living. Each client progresses due to work they put in to strengthen their resolve and awareness. This effort helps create lasting change because the growth truly comes from within. My approach is unique in that I combine scientific based programs from Western Medicine and Psychology with Eastern healing practices such as yoga and Ayurveda. The natural world is the biggest tool I use along with a focus on self-awareness and self-acceptance. The work I do is science backed with thousands of years of successful performance history and the beauty that surrounds us in nature.. The biggest challenge I face is that I am the sole creator of this program, which means I don’t have a larger company or well-known name brand to funnel business my way.

The up-side of being independent is that my exact approach to healthy living can’t be duplicated. I am extremely accessible and work with people both in person and virtually all around the world. The message I would like to share is that I created Resolve with Julie to serve others, to work with people who want to take control of their health and well-being in a self-initiated, natural way. Using nature and personal awareness as guideposts, this program is always with you and grows as you fully experience life.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Grand Junction is amazing because we are surrounded by outdoor recreation opportunities. When people come to visit me, I take them to many of nature’s gifts in the Grand Valley. The orchards and vineyards of Palisade, the Colorado National Monument, the Grand Mesa and floating down the Colorado River.

It’s hard to believe how much there is to do outside in this community, and the best thing is … nature heals!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It truly takes a village to achieve success. My friends and family have been my biggest cheerleaders in life and in business. One person in particular, Mollie Shepherdson of Mtn Haus Agency, has been by my side, helping to guide me in the business side of my work. Without her I would still be struggling to put together my website, social media and business plan. I can’t thank her enough for both her professional guidance and personal support.
