We had the good fortune of connecting with Kait Liggett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kait, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?

At Actualize Wellness, we’re challenging one of the biggest myths we grow up believing — that life eventually becomes a “happily ever after” once we check all the right boxes. The truth is, being human means feeling it all — joy, pain, excitement, fear — and our minds will always create both helpful and unhelpful thoughts along the way.

Through Acceptance and Commitment Training/Therapy (ACT), we help people build psychological flexibility — the skill of accepting life’s challenges while still taking meaningful action toward what truly matters. Instead of trying to erase difficult emotions, ACT teaches us how to carry them with compassion and continue living a rich, values-driven life.

This approach applies to every corner of life — from relationships and parenting to health, career, and mental health struggles like anxiety, depression, or grief. But historically, access to real behavioral and mental health strategies has been limited. You often have to buy a program, read a book, or receive a diagnosis before you ever encounter these tools.
Our mission is to change that — to make science-based practices for mental resilience freely accessible to anyone who finds them helpful.

Just like we invest in exercise or nutrition to care for our bodies, I believe mental health deserves the same attention — and accessibility. Everyone with a mind deserves tools to strengthen it. At Actualize Wellness, we want mental resilience to become as natural a daily habit as brushing your teeth or moving your body.

What sets us apart is that our work is grounded in behavioral science. As a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), I bring expertise in how meaningful, sustainable behavior change actually happens — not just motivational soundbites. We’re not adding to the self-help noise; we’re equipping people with research-backed tools to live with intention, resilience, and alignment with their values.

In short, Actualize Wellness helps the community by making evidence-based tools for living well accessible to everyone — so people can stop waiting for “happily ever after” and start living fully, right now.

For those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

At its core, Actualize Wellness translates behavioral science into practical, real-life strategies that help people build mental resilience — especially when facing stress and burnout. That’s what I’m most proud of: creating something free and accessible for people who want to live more intentionally, but feel stretched thin by life’s demands.

We’re still early in our journey, and growing with patience has been its own lesson in resilience. I’ve worked a full-time job throughout the entire process of building Actualize Wellness, all while raising two young kids. When we launched, my youngest was just five months old. Those early months were a blur of nap schedules, client work, content creation, and website building — often happening late at night or during nap times.

Since then, I’ve learned that being a business owner also means becoming a content creator, community builder, and storyteller. Every piece of it has taken longer than I’d like — and as someone who’s naturally impatient, that’s been tough. But that’s where ACT really comes to life for me.
I practice what I teach: noticing the thoughts like “I’m not doing enough” and choosing to hold them lightly instead of letting them dictate my actions. I remind myself that discomfort and self-doubt are part of any meaningful pursuit — and that persistence, not perfection, is what builds something worthwhile.

Ultimately, my goal is to build Actualize Wellness into a resource that’s not only real and useful for the community, but also allows my family to live a values-driven life — one rich in time, purpose, and mental resilience.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them?

I’ll admit — I don’t get out nearly as much as I’d like to (life with two kids and a business will do that!). But if I were to plan the perfect week, I’d make sure it had a mix of relaxation, adventure, and local flavor.

We’d start with a mountain drive and end the day with a great burger and a cold beer at a local spot. Midweek, we’d sneak in some downtime — maybe pedicures at The Orchard’s Nail and Spa in Westminster, my go-to since 2014.

For something family-friendly, we’d head to Acreage in Lafayette or Wonderland in Broomfield — both great places to unwind with good food and drinks while the kids can play freely. And if the timing was right, we’d hit a seasonal fair or outdoor concert.

To cap off the trip, we’d rent bikes from Pedego in Boulder (my husband’s cousin Harry and his wife Amy own it!) and explore the city on two wheels. Between the mountain air, the local eats, and the laid-back adventures, it’s the perfect snapshot of what makes Colorado feel like home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?

Without question — my husband, Cameron Liggett. We’ve navigated a lot of layers together: marriage, parenthood, working from home in the same office, and now building a business side by side. That’s a lot of togetherness — and a lot of opportunity for growth.

Over the last few years, through babies, postpartum seasons, and the general chaos of life, he’s embodied everything ACT stands for — compassion, understanding, and presence. I’ve grown stronger mentally and emotionally because of his support. He’s my partner in life and in business, and he deserves every bit of recognition for that.
