We had the good fortune of connecting with Kelle Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kelle, we’d love to hear more about your end-goal, professionally.
My end goal is my own brick n mortar storefront, where I sell my candles & ritual crafts, as well as local artisan jewelry, crystals, an apothecary of herbs, tinctures, and salves, etc. I’d also offer energy and shamanic work. I’m a reiki master and tarot card reader as well, so I’d like to offer energy healing/chakra balancing sessions and card readings. I’m currently selling my candles online in my etsy shop, as well as in numerous stores around the US. And offer my energy healing at numerous events. But to be able to do this in my own store, of my own making and energy is my end goal. To be the place of healing and holding space for my community is a goal I intend on reaching.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I was raised in a somewhat metaphysical home in Southern California, so I already leaned to the esoteric as a child. And so creating a Metaphysical business was not a stretch for me. I feel like I was put on this planet to heal and help others by holding space and being a safe space. I’m able to do that with my candles & ritual oils, one client at a time, as well as thru my Reiki and Shamanic healing practice. I surrounded myself with a beautiful circle of friends and community and created not only my own business, but was able to contribute to my community and its spiritual growth.

Twin Moon Magick LLC came about because of my own spiritual practice and want for more natural, eco-friendly metaphysical tools. So I started making my own ritual candles for my own practice. I started making custom candles for myself and friends. Everyone told me I should be selling these. I wrestled with the idea of making money off of spiritual items. It just didn’t sit well with me. But after consideration and many friends opinions, I realized that my energy was expended for these and compensation was necessary. In June of 2018, TwinMoonMagick went live on Etsy. And over the next year I stayed super busy online as well as vending different events and festivals. In January of 2019, I received my first request from a metaphysical shop in Denver, Co, Alchemy Ritual Goods, for my candles. That jump started my business, and fast forward 6 years later and I still currently stock Alchemy Ritual Goods, as well as 10 other esoteric/metaphysical shops throughout the US, from California to North Carolina.

I would say the lessons I’ve learned is stay out of my own way. I tend to downplay my worth and definitely fall into the imposter syndrome category, bad! So, I do really rely on the feedback and affirmation from friends and community. They’ve definitely been my push to continue to offer myself and my magick to the public. Another motivation are my clients. The changes they’ve been able to make or that have occured in their lives due to either my candles and oils, or energy healing sessions/card readings, definitely let me know I’m on the right track in my own spiritual journey. Just being a positive step in someone else’s journey is also what keeps me going. Another lesson I’ve learned is to try not to say No to new things, or things that push us out of our comfort zone. Most of my best work has come from someone asking for something new, and then me just figuring out a way to accomodate them.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I live in Manitou Springs, CO, so we’ve got ALOT to do around here! First of all, visiting all the shops in town is a full day event! One of my favs is the Cauldron! Lots of fun witchy finds! And all the great restaurants! Yum! The Loop has got great food and the employees are the sweetest! For your more adventurous friends, we have the Manitou Incline and Garden of the Gods, for hiking and spectacular views! And for those that love history, we have Cave of the Winds and the Manitou Cliff Dwellings. And since my bestie is into the metaphysical like me, we’d definitely have to hit the Manitou Drum Circle in Manitou Memorial Park on Thursday evenings throughout the summer.
