Meet Kimberly Do

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Do and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kimberly, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
For the past 5 years, our country has gone through some of the toughest times in history, yet we always find a way to overcome all and push the pedals towards a brighter future. Like many other Americans who arrived in this country pursuing a better life, we’ve made America our second homeland and have lived up to “The land of opportunity”. Even before relocating here, our family has long span and lengthy experience in the Food and Beverage industry. The idea came from a family dinner discussion around our passion for the current scene and the realization of the top-notch customer service that we once admired everywhere seems to have been lost. Though life has taken us to different turns, to adopt an 8-5-day job to make ends meet but the fire for providing great products and excellent customer services has never stopped burning. This is the reason why we named our company DoCO Legacy Ltd, to honor our “American dream”; to create something our own and hopefully one day, be recognized as a success story.
Denver has become a bigger melting pot than ever, and we saw this as a great growth opportunity that we cannot miss. We chose Krak Boba and opened the first store in the entire state because we believe in the niche and potential that the brand can set us aside from other boba brands.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
• Kim- a business management graduate college student, and lifelong boba fanatic. Boba drinks were something I grew up having as a treat. It is something you could find at any corner/ neighborhood in Vietnam. Boba shops were a third place for a lot of us Vietnamese where we would hang out; relax; work or just catching up with friends and family, for hours. It was truly a culture that brought people together. Living here in the States, for years I was looking for a good and consistent boba brand to be my one and only but was not able to.
• Hugh – warm hearted, passionate and experienced previous business owner who sets out to create and expand a family business that one day. It will become a legacy to his children, a story of hard-working immigrants that was able to make his American dream came true.
Krak Boba was found in California, in 2020 during the pandemic, by a group of friends who were also passionate about setting them apart from others and holding the same values as us. One thing we learned after meeting with the brand founders who are also Vietnamese and grew up in America. They hold the same love for boba and belief in catching the opportunity as we do. Krak Boba is a perfect example of a meeting place between 2 cultures, East and West where tradition meets innovation.
Krak Boba truly embodies elements of a good old American business: great products; excellent customer service, family oriented with a strong go-big -or -go -home spirit.
Krak Boba Superior is a unique store that not only provides excellent, great tasting products, but also creates the welcoming “third place” for our customer- all the best qualities that the market is missing. Our mission is to bring back the desire for high standard and quality products and services that once existed.
The name Krak came from an old Polish folk tale “The legend of the Wawel Dragon”. The story of King Krakus and the dragon, also known as the “Wawel Dragon” legend, symbolizes the founding of the city of Krakow, Poland, where King Krakus, a mythical ruler, defeated a terrifying dragon that terrorized the people, ultimately bringing peace and prosperity to the city by outsmarting the beast; the dragon represents chaos and threats to the community, while Krakus embodies courage, intelligence, and leadership in overcoming these challenges. I’d like to dedicate this to my grandpa- Di Van Do who made Krak Boba Superior possible, who has chosen America to be his forever home and has always been the strongest believer in “America, the land of freedom and opportunity”. To each one of our family members (Bac 2, chu/ Thim 5, Nha 8) who have sacrificed so much precious time and effort into bringing the store to be on its feet. To our wonderful Bobaristas for holding the fort down while we’re away.
Finally, we want to delicate this interview to our most beloved town residents and customers who have been strong supporters of our journey since day one. Letting us believe we can make it.
