Meet Kira Goff | Co-Owner of KINDLE Photo Studio & Event Space

We had the good fortune of connecting with Kira Goff and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Kira, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I call myself a chronic entrepreneur because I either see hole in the market and have a huge desire to fill it or I figure out how to make a living doing the things that I love. In the case of KINDLE Photo Studio & Event Space, I saw a hole because I was experiencing a lack of options for my own photography business when it came to locations in the Springs and after doing market research, I knew others were as well!
My business plan evolved into a small event space as well because I didn’t want such a great space downtown to sit empty after the sun went down and photographers weren’t using it.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve spent the last 11 years honing my skills as a photographer so it has been such an incredible joy to be able to offer something back to the photography community with this new space. I do a lot of brand photography so I’m always in need of indoor locations for that niche, but a lot of people use it for families, creative styled shoots, newborns, maternity, boudoir photography and the list goes on!
It took me a lot of years to get to the point where I could support myself with my photography full-time. My hope is that we can not only be there for the creatives who are crushing it, but also help the ones who are towards beginning of their journey learn how to provide an amazing client experience that has people coming back time and time again and referring their friends.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
While we have access to so many amazing, adventurous areas here, the downtown core is really starting to thrive and becoming a place worth spending some time! I would suggest eating at Coati or Tejon Eatery, the food halls downtown, or The Rabbit Hole or Bonny & Read for something a little fancier, then walking through the shops – make sure to hit The Local Honey! A hike around Red Rock Canyon Open Space and a drive through Garden of the Gods are always great options too.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am so incredibly grateful for the community of photographers and creatives here in Colorado Springs for encouraging, affirming, and supporting us as we started this new endeavor! The idea behind the name KINDLE is that we want to be te avenue by which others’ creative sparks are breathed to life. It is absolutely a dream come true to be able to cultivate community and creativity right in the heart of downtown. YOU are the reason we do what we do and we couldn’t do it without you!
