Meet Lilly Pérez | Event Content Creator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lilly Pérez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lilly, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was 17 years old when I planned my first wedding as a day-of coordinator. My passion for events ignited from my passion for networking and community. My creativity grew from assisting my aunt’s space design business before entering high school, but truly, the first event I ever planned was my very own quinceañera. 14-year-old me began negotiating prices and scheduling site visits. When all was said and done, I enjoyed it so much that I knew I would have so much fun getting paid to do this for other people! After a successful 8-year run in the event business and a Bachelor of Science in Event and Meeting Management, I decided to pivot. Digital marketing excited me. So why not combine the two and become an Event Content Creator? In December of 2022, I pivoted from planning events to capturing them. This form of media specializes in content for social media with a 24-hour turnaround time to share the little things with family and friends across the globe.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m a storyteller. I’m a writer. I’m a poet. I’m a creative. When launching Lilly Posted It as an event content creator, I used my skill set to tell the story of others. A big part of what I capture through video and photo is understanding what’s important for my clients. I study what they value and what brings joy to them. What they don’t know is that each of their lives is a brand that speaks to their personality; they just didn’t know it. I’m there to capture them in their element through the unedited, candid moments because one day they will look back to relive this chapter.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As a Denver native, you can’t come to the Mile High City without going to Little Man’s ice cream. After a stroll through the park, we’d scooter our way to The Drip Café on the Santa Fe Art District. A hike at Chautauqua Park for the ultimate Coloradoan experience, finishing off at a local brewery following some Cosmo’s Pizza or Bonfire Burritos in Golden. Of course, another coffee run to Café 13 when in Golden. Brunch at Snooze, coffee at Summer Moon, and church at Higher Level Denver. the list can go on and on!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A uni friend who quickly became not only a classmate, career partner, but my sister, has been a supporting pillar in all my ideas. Perla is the founder of Inspirada Co., an event planner who consults and designs, transforming gatherings from non-profits to weddings. Her out-of-the-box creativity and logistical planning always come up with ideas that enhance my business strategy. Brainstorming with her over coffee and chai is my favorite!

Is there a way to be able to upload video clips instead of photos? My work involves creating content for social media reels.
