We had the good fortune of connecting with Lisa Forgan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lisa, what’s your definition for success?
This is a great question and a tricky one too since success is deeply personal. I view success in so many ways but I’ll focus into some success with my business, Neweon. I believe Neweon helped me find my greatest outcomes of success by allowing me to live my true purpose and impacting others. I enjoy doing massage therapy, providing energy work, being a psychic reader and also writing books. It brings joy to me when I inspire others to think differently and try something they haven’t thought of before. Success occurs when these outcomes turn out desirable and when goals get met. Another part of Neweon’s success is elevated based on my abilities, providing my skills to the best of my capabilities and helping my clients get relief from pain. Its all about making a difference in other people’s live. It feels so good when a client thanks you for making a difference in their life- its a way of knowing at the end of the day that I have helped someone feel better and met their needs.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business, Neweon is about providing complementary and alternative health services in Lakewood, Colorado. Our mission is to provide services and resources that encourages healing. Through this, we believe that we can help inspire others to lead healthy, beautiful and positive lifestyles. We stand apart from many other massage services as we have over 18 years of experience where we incorporate various eastern and western techniques plus our other skills that we learned from medical professionals. We also stand out from other massage services since we provide psychic reading, astrology reports, energy work like Reiki, and sound therapy with crystal bowls. I’m most excited of our new services, Reiki (http://neweonhealthandbeauty.com/types-of-services/details/reiki/) and the Crystal Singing Bowls Sound Bath (http://neweonhealthandbeauty.com/types-of-services/details/sound-bath/). These new additions compliment the body, mind and soul in order to bring balance throughout one’s life. It really correlates with our mission and brings a whole new level of healing. Being an entrepreneur in any business is not an easy task. It takes courage, constant learning, and will-power to overcome the day-to-day challenges and future goals. We are always looking for ways to promote ourself and our new services; due to this we have to be creative. We learned that word of mouth is our best resources and providing a demonstration of our skills and services to our clients helps them understand what we do better and how we stand out. It is all about the experience to really get the results. I would love the world to know that Neweon brings an unique experience to massage and healing traditions.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friends were visiting the area I would take them to Bear Creek Lake Park. Especially if its during the spring time. Since they have camping there, we would spend the week at that park. There is so much to do and so much fun to experience. They have horseback riding, camping, boating, swimming, waterskiing, fishing, archery range, trails with a lovely landscape to explore, and wildlife viewing. Other things to check out while in town would be visiting Celestial Seasoning up in Boulder. It’s a wonderful experience to try different teas and see how their products are stored and delivered.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to give recognition to the famous Brené Brown. She has inspired me in so many ways with her topics of courage, vulnerability and bravery. With the understanding of vulnerability, fear, hope and strength, I have been able to meet my goals. She reminds me that we are all human and are not perfect. She taught me that it isn’t easy to be seen of who you are and what you want to do, but you learn to make space for those people and part of oneself that values courage and creativity. My favorite quote that she shares from Theodore Roosevelt reminds me to take risks and not let the fear of criticism to inhibit the display of my own work… “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasm, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the trump of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly…”
