We had the good fortune of connecting with Lizzy Moffett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lizzy, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Looking back at my career, the projects that felt a little scary are always where I grew the most. This quote sums it up “A bird sitting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking, because its trust is not on the branch, but on its own wings.” -Charlie Wardle

For me, risk isn’t about leaping blindly. It’s about having enough faith in yourself to know that even if the branch shakes, you have the wings to keep flying. My first career as a teacher gave me the ultimate gift: it taught me that I can teach myself anything.

So when I step into something unfamiliar (whether it’s learning a new technology, taking on a huge client project, or restructuring my entire business) I remind myself that I have the skills to figure it out as I go. It’s really about trusting my own ability to learn and adapt, no matter what.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Most websites take months to build. Mine take two days. That’s the headline difference, but it’s not just about being fast. It’s about combining speed with real expertise. I’ve been in the design world for over twenty years, and with a Google UX certification, I build with user experience at the heart of everything. No cookie-cutter templates. Every site I create is custom, beautiful, and built to actually work.
The part I’m most proud of is my Two-Day Build. It’s a sprint that cuts through all the endless back-and-forth most people dread. One of my clients had been putting off leaving her corporate job for years because the idea of a website felt overwhelming. Two days with me later, she launched her new site, popped champagne on our Zoom call, and her family toasted her. That moment reminded me that websites aren’t just digital tools. They’re personal milestones that mark a new chapter.
When I left teaching, I thought I was giving up those “aha” moments that made the classroom so fun. Turns out, I still get them every day. Now they happen when a client looks at their site and says, “That’s it. That’s what was in my brain.” Watching that shift from stress to excitement never gets old.
Along the way I’ve learned that fast does not have to mean flimsy, and that shortcuts rarely pay off. Cheap sites from Fiverr or a well-meaning family member usually end up costing more in stress and lost opportunities. Your website should be your best employee, not your biggest headache.
Looking ahead, I’m building what I call my Forever Forty, a curated group of clients who never have to stress about their websites again. I don’t want to run a big agency. I want depth over width, working with people I can grow and collaborate with for years. For me, it’s not just about building websites. It’s about building friendships and breakthroughs.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I can fit all my favorites into one incredible day. We’d start the morning at 7AM Somewhere
with a perfectly brewed coffee, maybe a new houseplant, and a little time to map out the fun ahead. Then we’d pop into My Local Boutique to find a cute outfit and the perfect pair of jeans for our night out. On the way back, we’d swing by Lulu’s Farm to grab fresh produce and some irresistible baked goods.

After a little dress-up and getting ready, we’d hop on the light rail to downtown Denver. A few hours wandering the Denver Art Museum would be the perfect start, followed by a snack and cocktail at Corinne Denver. From there, we’d dive into Colorado’s thriving theater scene with a show at the Denver Performing Arts Complex.

To cap it all off, we’d end the night at Fortissimo Piano Bar. We’d close off by singing, laughing, and making the kind of memories you don’t forget. In just one day, my best friend would get the best of both worlds: the cozy, small-town spots I love and the energy of Denver’s city life.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a shoutout to Mandy of Elevating Profits
. When I was just getting my business off the ground, the creative side came naturally, but the financial side felt overwhelming. Mandy stepped in early and changed everything for me. She has a way of mixing strategy with mindset that made the numbers less scary and more empowering. Because of her, I learned how to price my work, package my services, and actually understand the story my finances were telling me. Having her in my corner gave me the confidence to make smarter decisions and grow with intention, and I’m so grateful for her role in my journey.
